I will definitely try it if they release a sugarfree version! Don't need the sugar in the regular one. :/

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I don't want my boyfriend sleeping with other women just because he wants me to do the same. :/ I don't think that this saying is really so clear-cut.

To be honest, I have no issue with religion and even peddling it doesn't really bother me. I don't mind a good debate sometimes, and if I don't want to listen I have the option to refuse as well. What turns me off, though, is the insistence on submission. I can't imagine submitting to anyone. I have little enough control over my life as it is, I couldn't even conceive of turning everything over to someone else. I suppose this isn't the best place to discuss it, but I just don't understand the need to place yourself in the service of another, or to rely on them for everything. Once I became an adult I lost the need for anything but the occasional helping hand, which I am glad to give as well as receive when needed.

Wow, this is awful. I wonder if she ever suspected that the man she was marrying was a sociopath. O.o;; Makes me wonder how many people I know could suddenly go over the edge.

Ambrosia: I agree with you 100%. It's not a rule, it's a guideline. Guidelines that make no sense should not be followed, period. There is no reason at all for this guideline to exist other than to appease the complainers!

Wow.. all of these housewives. Wonder what happened to their kids and husbands while they were off at the airport ogling another man. :/

And another thing.. how did they know that he was coming at all, much less exactly when his flight was? Do they publish these things publicly?

The quality of the photograph is really bad. Is that really the best that JT could get? It looks like just a general fan who got lucky enough to stand on stage took it.

I'm saying that these companies don't want to aid and abet a crime

What wikileaks does is not illegal, so this argument is not valid. I agree that a company does have the right to choose who or what they do business with, but it's customers also have the right to be angry with that choice if they disagree with it.

Of course I do!

Talking behind someone's back has never been acceptable. Why should it be different for governments? We have a right to know what is really going on, not just what they want us to know!

Technically, Wikileaks hasn't done anything illegal in the US, because publishing confidential information isn't illegal. (leaking it to the publisher is, but that would be someone else)

If the government would be embarrassed at a comment being made public, they shouldn't be making it in the first place!

I didn't realize at first that it was single mothers!! She's doing a good thing, but it's sad that it's restricted to only single mothers.

I personally am all for mothers having style!! Most of the mothers where I live dress frumpy and completely unappealing at all, no matter how young they are! WHY not just take 15 minutes and choose a trendy outfit and put on some makeup? I guess that it's not a priority now that they've got someone who "can't leave" (ie- because you have kids, your connection to that man is made forever), they don't have to care about their appearance anymore? I'm with what Oprah said-- look good for yourself! Dress nice for yourself! And you'll be amazed at how much of a difference it makes in your mood!

I agree, it's unfortunate that books from Google can't be read on the Kindle. All of this proprietary nonsense is going to hurt the ebook business. It's one of the main reasons that I won't be buying one anytime in the near future.

Well, that and that I still prefer a hard copy, which I can loan to friends.

Umm, why 69? There is only one noted significance to the number 69 that I'm aware of, and if the survivors of Pearl Harbor are still engaging in that, good for them!! I hope I'm that spry when I hit that age!

I think the wording to the article was poorly chosen. "Sacrifice" as opposed to "slaughter", "murder", or something similar.

Just because something is a rule does not mean that you should follow it. If talking on cell phones on trains is banned JUST because it will disrupt people's comfort, then I can suggest a million other things that should be banned, like people who smell like smoke or alcohol, people who fart, people who stare at me for not being asian, people who fill up the seats so that I can't sit down. All of those things annoy me and I'm sure many others. Now that I think of it, just ban everyone except from me and my friends, because they are annoying.

Or, just let me talk peaceably on my phone. Though to be honest, I prefer the other option.

Posted in: 70,000 commuters delayed by quarrel over cell phone on train in Chiba See in context

Geez. When are they going to change that idiotic rule that you can't speak on your cell phone on the train? The only reason I've been given is that it's too loud. But that doesn't hold water, since people talk to each other much louder! And you're in a public place-- noise is just something that you have to put up with! As for the pacemaker and priority seats thing. How is it ANY different standing next to the priority seats, where you can use your phone (except talking) freely, and standing one step to the right where you have to t urn it off? It won't make any difference! The rule makes NO sense, except as a way to appease those who complained.

If those rules didn't exist, then incidents like these could have been avoided. People who don't like noise on the trains just need to be quiet and bear with it. This is a public place and eventually you will get off anyway! Go home if you want to sleep. Or go hog a bench in the park.

If they were big (the size of a paperback at least), thin, lightweight, flexible (you could roll them up and stick them in a corner of your bag!), cute (pink would be great!), cheap, and could access any book ever printed for significantly cheaper, then I would consider it!

Otherwise, I suppose that I will have to wait. Oh, and of course, battery life is still a consideration. I don't have to recharge any of the books that I currently own.

Posted in: Which of Tokyo's commuter rail lines have the best babes and worst habits? See in context

I live on the Denentoshi line, and have found it just as rude as the rest. Especially full of old ladies who talk crap about the other passengers and hover over full regular seats hoping to guilt someone out of theirs when there are completely empty disabled/elderly seats nearby.

It is also one of the most crowded trains in all of Tokyo. Even during the middle of the day it is full to bursting with rude people that reek of cigarette smoke and shove you to get inside and stare at your chest. Ugh. Down with trains in general.

And tight jeans are a definite plus!!

Posted in: What do you think about the quality of reality TV shows? See in context

You can't really lump all reality tv shows into one like that. Like drama or comedy, there are some really great shows (Survivor, Amazing Race, ANTM, etc), and some really horrid, boring reality shows (Kardashians, Ozborns, John and Kate plus Eight, etc).

I for one really, really, really wish that they would allow us American Expats to participate in the Amazing Race and Survivor. I would be all over those shows if that was the case.

I never understood why it's rude to talk on your cell phone on the bus/train. It's okay on the street/in the store/other public places, so why not on the bus?

She grossly overreacted, but I agree that the other passengers were rude to tell her to stop. Talking on the phone doesn't hurt them at all.

Why didn't they make it 8 slices? It doesn't matter if it's lower-calorie if the slice is that much larger than the other breads.

The slices from those 6-slice packs are so thick! Almost impossible to eat!

It would be nice if they update so that you can use itunes without it freaking out and asking you to wipe your phone all the time. I can't update my firmware at all, because I don't want to delete all of the stuff already on my phone!

All that happened was that it synched to a computer that died. When I tried to sync to the new one it was like "SORRY~YOU SUCK!" and insisted on a reset to factory settings. Of course I didn't, so I can't sync at all. I hope apple fixes this!

Posted in: How should airlines handle obese passengers? See in context

2020hindsight at 10:54 AM JST - 16th November I'm pretty sure that some European airlines already require obese passengers to buy a second seat, although I think they may only charge 1.5 times the single seat price. Sounds sensible to me.

Not unless I can also buy two seats for 1.5 the price of one. I'm not obese, I just want two seats (one for me, one for a friend) at the same price an obese person would pay. If it works both ways, then okay.
