It's clear that the misinformation is not limited to podcasts and "influencers". Much of it comes from "respected medical institutes", who parrot what their funders tell them.
You've got that right, in particular some of the stuff coming out of Harvard lately is ridiculous.

This order was already blocked by a Federal judge even as the administration tries to "clarify" it. It is totally illegal and they won't get away with it. Trump has already violated his oath at least a dozen times. The question is, when will Trump start to violate court orders? Impeachment and the 25th amendment are the only ways to stop him.

BoJ needs to hike rates to defend the yen and keep inflation expectations anchored to it's 2% target. Higher interest rates hurt with government debt at 250% of GDP, they should be tightening the budget to help reduce inflationary pressure instead of wasting ever more money.

The solution isn't difficult: build more hotels. If you can really sell out small rooms in a business hotel for Y20k a night, there's a profit to be made.

78 years old and no prior convictions, he was never going to jail for the New York case, and a fine would be meaningless. The sentencing, even with no punishment, will officially make him a convicted felon.

Like most diets, people try carnivore because the "standard" diet isn't working for them. There are a lot of research studies underway now, but it's already clear that a lot of people do well on carnivore:

Zero-fiber diets help to cure digestive issues. The information is out there if you're willing to look at it with an open mind.

@virusrex, sorry but in this case you don't know what you are talking about. Well intentioned people are giving terrible nutrition advice that's causing real harm.
If you want to educate yourself on the keto diet, try watching YouTube videos by Dr. Eric Westman, Dr. Paul Mason, or Dr. Ken Berry.
Most nutrition research is funded by groups that are pushing an agenda for monetary or religious reasons. Just because something comes out from Harvard doesn't mean you should trust it. You can read about some of the history in "The Big Fat Surprise" by Nina Teicholz.

Posted in: Japan likely spent some ¥3 tril on intervention as yen jumps See in context
Whoever wrote this article should learn a few basics. In this case, the BoJ was intervening by selling dollars, they weren't selling yen. The dollars they were selling were bought at much better levels when the yen was strong, and in the interim were held as Treasuries offering yields higher than those on JGBs. The result is a huge profit for taxpayers.
This tactic of waiting for news that pushes the exchange rate in the direction the authorities want, then intervening to exaggerate the move, is a common one.
