It would be interesting to know how they fare in some of the other categories.

It's number 12 on the list, found here: http://www.worldairportawards.com/Awards/world_airport_rating.html

You hit a stationary ball with a stick,... you will be fine.

It costs 600 yen for general admission to Miraikan, which is included in the 1,200 yen special exhibit fee. So if you're also interested in the other exhibits there, the human waste journey is only an extra 600!

More information from a Japanese newspaper article at: http://hochi.yomiuri.co.jp/topics/news/20130906-OHT1T00198.htm

The claimed distance is 1300 km, of which he walked "most" (ほとんど) of it over 11 days.

His bag was found on the street in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka on 8/26, and contained underwear, his return air ticket, etc.

He was able to get some hand-outs at places like Michi-no-Eki (local farmers markets).

There was contact between Miyagi police and Fukuoka police regarding his disappearance, and the bag that was found in Fukuoka. Police are investigating.

TGV been running 350 kph for the last 30 years.

Nope. The TGV runs at 320 km/hr on a couple of lines.

China's fastest train had been operating at up to 350 km/hr, but that has since been reduced to 300 km/hr due to the accident a couple of years back.

@Farmboy, I suggest you read the information on the link you provided. "Shindo" (shown as "JMA Seismic Intensity") and "Magnitude" (correctly "moment magnitude scale") are different. And although the quake was magnitude 5.2, as Smorkian says, it was only a Shindo level 3.

You can find links to preparatory materials, a transcript (partial?) of the debate, and an hour long video on Mr. Hori's blog.

Look at: blog dot globis dot co dot jp / hori_english / 2011 / 08 / my-thoughts-aft.html

Change "dot" into ".", and remove all spaces. The materials are all in Japanese.
