Here is a example of how the lack of knowledge lends itself to huge misconstructions. To be able to dance and smile at the same time it's not a easy feat. And, even among those that able to accomplish that, Yuko is very special. Only those that really don't know anything about the group and never have seen her dance can say she is not "even the least bit athletic".

It's a bit sad to read so much lack of information from so many people. Please, before commenting, just read a bit about who he is and what he has done even before AKB.

It's not going to be a "Idol" cerimony (with or without AKB). But, one thing I'm sure of: If they try to represent Japan's culture and they don't include contemporary music and art, they would be making a huge mistake. Contemporary japanese art is as good as any other art in this world.

Posted in: Ideally, should English teachers at schools in Japan be native speakers? Can non-native English speakers do just as well or better? See in context

I would argue that a non-native English teacher (someone with higher education in the english language) knows more about english than a native speaker. This applies to all languages. A person high higher education in Portuguese (my native language) is better than me, simple because, the only thing that I know about my language is how to speak and write. All the grammar its reasons for being are foreign to me.
