my daughter is 8 years old and likes AKB too, but even she will comment on how 'sukebe' their film clips are.

Beginner where they ripped their arms off....Sakura no Ki ni Narou with their storyline that memories of a dead friend will follow you around no matter what and will stay by your side, Kaze wa Fuiteiru that's dedicated to tsunami victims and the girls dress up in funeral clothes, Flying Get with it's kungfu storyline, Give me five with it's drama about the struggling, bullies, dealing with invalid drunken parents and overcoming adversity through music, Ue Kara Mariko that's about a janken, or how in their Documentary Show Must Go On, the girls collapsed from heat stroke at their Seibu dome concert but still went out and keep singing or how happy the tsunami victims, especially the chidren were to see AKB48 and told them to do their best even tho these people just lost their homes...is totally...sukebe...........yeah......

People saying akb are teen girls....you know the ones that get promote (and at least 70% of the group) are all over 18, most 20, and the oldest is Shinoda Mariko at 26 right? Anyway any celeb have some extreme fans, these people are few in a thousand, millions...but then the foreigners here don't like AKB so w/e

@SonnyInAz No otaku isn't. Otaku is still looked down on in Japan. AKB48 isn't even considered part of the otaku thing anymore since they're mainstream now with the members doing model works, endorsement every freaking thing possible. But anyway agree with what you said

Honestly you people need to get over your prejudice. They're attempting to help out people. Most of you don't even know that much about them yet you judge them? Have you ever heard their songs like Beginner? River? Kaze wa fuiteiru? Keibetsu? Keibetsu is actually a song about suicide. Not only that, AKB48 do care about Japanese the fact that they contributed millions of dollars into tsunami relief, donated vehicles, visited tsunami areas 10 times, well as made a song dedicated for the victims.

Flying get is a slang for getting CD before it's on sale and they used it to compare to getting a girl (yes song is from a guy perspective) heart before everyone else. If you don't know the slang then maybe you shouldn't complain?

Also the reason japan like AKB isn't because they're kawaii since Beginner, Give me Five, Keibetsu, River, Kaze wa fuiteiru, Sakura no ki ni narou, Sakura no shiori, etc etc weren't kawaii and you guys need to get over your prejudice and look up more videos than just watching 1 video of there for couple min. Just so you know not only because they do diverse songs about cute love to suicide, they also donated more than 20 million USD to Japan relief, donated 30 vehicles for transportation, visited tsunami areas 10 times including Fukushima on Christmas, asked their fans to dedicate letters to victims at the concert, and dedicated the lyric of Kaze wa fuiteiru to help empower tsunami victims. They helped more lives than you pressed haters.....but w/e :P
