I like the car and would actually buy it if I needed to commute or to run errands in limited geographical areas. The moment will come when people will realize that a heavy, energy consuming, air-polluting pile of metal and plastic is actually unnecessary. Cars have always been way underutilized; therefore, becoming a terrible investment compared with the damage they cause.

Posted in: What do you think of the banking system in Japan? What are the pros and cons? See in context

Japanese banks rob people blind: 0.01% or 0.02% interest in savings and they charge you for just about every transaction...pure thievery. Back home interest on savings is now around 3.5% (it got it to 6% during the good times) and banks do whatever it takes to attract new costumers: Point systems, discounts, freebies, free online banking, etc.

If I were the taxi driver, I'd go to the man's company and have a chat with his boss. If one of my staff was a. arrested and b. for spitting on someone who is giving him/her good honest service, I'd fire their a**.

Posted in: What makes Japanese women say, 'I never want to see that jerk again!' See in context

...at least when you decide your date is a "jerk," you're getting a preview of what he's going to be like if you marry...from personal experience and hearing from my buddies who have married J girls, Japanese women totally change after marriage...why continue acting if their biggest mission in life (getting married) has been accomplished....(sigh)....

Posted in: Gay pride See in context

Homosexuality is not under attack here..it's simply the stupid way some knuckle heads have decided to celebrate it on behalf on an entire group of people...if I was gay, the last thing I'd want if a bunch of characters like these parading on my behalf and totally "uneducating" the public about me...

The most pathetic thing I've seen in my life was a half-paralyzed middle aged Japanese guy on crutches coming out of the adult section of a Tsutaya carrying a stack of porn videos. He also had a breathing problem and made a snorting sound that attracted lots of attention...he dropped some of the videos (all porn with pics of high school girls on them) on the way to the register and had to be assisted by video store staff...creepy, yet sad...I guess here's the answer to his prayers...prostitution meets CSR...

Anyone can demonstrate anyway they want, but, I bet,if you asked these guys to put on suits/dresses and visit the Japanese parliament to ask for gay rights, I doubt they'd do it. It's way easier to dress like clowns and parade around, reinforcing the public's prejudices.

Posted in: Two arrested for running members-only prostitution website See in context

Prostitution is not the crime, but the facilitation of it. Back home, prostitution is legal; however, it is a crime to act an intermediary due to the usual abuse and exploitation, often of minors, involved.
