The "party of law and order" once again advocating for the law to be completely ignored in favor of a president with despotic tendencies.

So far 1 Trillion dollars, some going to terrorists, some for housing illegal aliens and others for trans operas in Colombia.

I think you undercalculated that! It's actually ONE HUNDRED TRILLION of wasted money for trans musicals on the moon! If you're gonna lie, might as well do it correctly.

Republicans: Let's look into the garbage our tax money is being wasted on... but not the tens of billions REAL garbage in the military budget! Juste the stuff we don't like in our worldwide charity efforts!

Democrats: You just stopped vital aid programs, people are going to die.

Republicans: Who cares?! Now let Elon give himself more government contracts while China's influence grows in the rest of the world. MAGA!!!

That corrupt Dan Goldman

Oooh, what crimes has the right-wing media bubble invented now? Is James Comer going to waste millions of taxpayer dollars investgating him in a committee that will lead to absolutely nothing?

Posted in: Senate Democrat alleges FBI chief nominee Patel is secretly overseeing firings See in context

The day fter Patel's hearing, Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove fired eight senior career FBI officials and ordered the FBI's Acting Director Brian Driscoll to hand over a list of every employee who worked on investigations related to the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump's supporters.

Yeah nothing nefarious going on here at all! Just your normal retribution for investigating and imprisoning insurrectionists. History will not look kindly on this administration.

Musk will march on, expose the corruption

By actively engaging in it, of course.

I know that plastic is bad for the environment but I must say I do hate paper straws.

This might be a little controversial, but there is always the choice of... not using a straw at all.

Look at Little X, all dressed up smartly and watching the proceedings over the Resolute Desk - that little young man is clearly future presidential timber.

He's clearly the most mature person in that picture.

The scrubbed material includes reports on HIV prevention, a CDC webpage for providing clinicians with guidance on reproductive health care and an FDA study on “sex differences in the clinical evaluation of medical products.”

Who cares about HIV prevention when you can score political points with the bigots?

Removing important information from the CDC and FDA websites is delaying patient care, hampering research and hindering doctors' ability to communicate with patients,

And the MAGA fans cheer on as their country continues to crumble.

Posted in: Trump announces 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum, risking inflation on promise of more jobs See in context

It's pretty concrete Trump became the president and immediately upon his inauguration the stock market soared. Bank stocks especially. Crypto too.

And they all crashed a few days later when he started talking about his silly tariffs. So what's your point?

Posted in: Trump announces 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum, risking inflation on promise of more jobs See in context

It's kind of like by his being elected, corporate optimism rose and so the economy as a whole that got driven down by Biden is getting revitalized. Companies have faith in Trump's plans, and are inspired by his policy of making the border more secure, and thus making communities safer in which to live, invest, and work.

This is just fantasy talk. "Corporate optimism" doesn't raise wages and create jobs, especially not in 3 weeks. What concrete, actual policies led to those? Detailed numbers, please.

Promoting dance performances by transgenders in Haiti wasn't feeding any children.

About 500,000 metric tons of food worth $340 million is in limbo, in transit or storage, as humanitarian organizations wait for U.S. State Department approval to distribute it, said Marcia Wong, a former senior USAID official who has been briefed on the situation.

The Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET), the U.S. entity that produced regular food security alerts meant to prevent famine, also has been shut down. Its loss leaves aid organizations without a key source of guidance on where and how to deploy humanitarian relief.

And the U.S. government issued stop-work orders to two major manufacturers of nutritional supplements, diminishing the supply of life-saving food for severely malnourished children around the world.

Kids are literally dying but hey, as long as you can stick it to those annoying transgenders, right?

Or are you so far gone that he literally can't do anything wrong in your book?

I do think there is a minority of MAGA fans who will still actively support everything Trump does -and find somebody else to blame- even if it hurts them in a direct and unequivocal way. Being in a cult is no joke.

Which they are free to look at since he’s always been transparent,

So transparent that the SEC is pursuing several cases against him. Which is why he got into politics in the first place. To escape the jail time he knows he's bound for once the ponzis start falling apart.

I agree, which is why I think the whole republican party should have been eradicated after the insurrection of January 6th.

word salad lady.

Donald Trump, asked about the price of childcare:

Well, I would do that, and we’re sitting down, and I was, somebody, we had Senator Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka was so, uh, impactful on that issue. It’s a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about, that, because, look, child care is child care is. Couldn’t, you know, there’s something, you have to have it – in this country you have to have it.

But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I’m talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they’re not used to — but they’ll get used to it very quickly – and it’s not gonna stop them from doing business with us, but they’ll have a very substantial tax when they send product into our country. Uh, those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers that we’re talking about, including child care, that it’s going to take care.

We’re gonna have – I, I look forward to having no deficits within a fairly short period of time, coupled with, uh, the reductions that I told you about on waste and fraud and all of the other things that are going on in our country, because I have to stay with child care. I want to stay with child care, but those numbers are small relative to the kind of economic numbers that I’m talking about, including growth, but growth also headed up by what the plan is that I just, uh, that I just told you about.

We’re gonna be taking in trillions of dollars, and as much as child care, uh, is talked about as being expensive, it’s, relatively speaking, not very expensive compared to the kind of numbers we’ll be taking in. We’re going to make this into an incredible country that can afford to take care of its people, and then we’ll worry about the rest of the world. Let’s help other people, but we’re going to take care of our country first. This is about America first. It’s about Make America Great Again, we have to do it because right now we’re a failing nation, so we’ll take care of it. Thank you. Very good question. Thank you.

....but Kamala was "word salad lady". Sure.

“No, they wouldn’t” when asked if Palestinians in Gaza would have a right to return to the territory.

Imagine openly calling for the actual ethnic cleansing of over 2 million people.

Of course, his rabid fans will start claiming that those 2 million people, women, children and babies included, are all hamas members, which is as insane as it reads.
