This is like the US winning Olympic basketball.

Nah, they don't have to work as hard and it is expected in the US. Glad they made it this far and Canada worked hard to get their gold. Good job on them.

US got lucky on this. They were nowhere close to the top 3 teams.

Who knows, pops might have asked the son to hurry nature along. I would not be suprised.

In Japan they would be in jail facing charges of professional neglect resulting in death.

That is very untrue. It would be, that is not my responsibility and they would just look away.

This last commenter ---Kent--- probably hits the nail on the head. Walsh was loyal opposition and a victim of his own success. The only ones left are the zealots.

I agree with this. As an avid gamer, this guy kept to the facts and I believe just tried to get games restricted to targeted audiences. Hopefully, parents will review stuff before they buy stuff for their children. What I wish is for parents to have a camera or a voice recording machine to hear the crap that comes out of their childrens mouths when they are playing games they should not be playing.

Posted in: Seven dogs bite five students in Mie school grounds See in context

I hate to agree with cleo, but the dogs bit the kids. If the dogs full on attacked a kid, even if they were medium sized, those kids would be a lot worse off. And if any of you saw the dogs in the news, they were not big at all and scared witless. Most animals run away from humans, even dogs unless cornered. No teachers, just a bunch of teenage kids with what may have seemed to be stray dogs...teenagers either trying to shoo away of play rough...who knows...

Posted in: New 'Final Fantasy' video game goes on sale See in context

Any FF fans out there? I kind of think this series jumped the shark at about 8, but maybe someone can encourage me to try this.

I could not even complete 9. That was the worst one for me. 12 was actually decent and had a good story to it. So give 12 a chance, besides it is cheap now.

As far as 13 is concerned...I have been reading the JP blogs and it has not been too good. To much movie time, loss of MP capability, and hard time adjusting to the new battle system. I myself still have not played it and will wait till March when it is released on the 360. But I will keep trolling the blogs to see if I can find better reactions.

Can someone please tell me if a Japanese copy of FF will work on a US PS3?

Yes it will.

Posted in: Will the U.S. Marines charge ashore at Kansai airport? See in context

Your comments are insulting and we should be thankful you no longer reside in the USA!

I second this. He is the American of Americans.

"service personnel' only spend money on booze and women" Really? So we have something in common with all the Japanese salarymen, politicians, and fine upstanding police officers?

lol. Good stuff.

Posted in: Will the U.S. Marines charge ashore at Kansai airport? See in context

I am an American and I find these comments inaccurate. I believe the last thing Osaka or the U.S.M.C. needs is a quick fix. Most US service members serve their country with honor and pride and are great representatives of their country. The military does not go out to make itself or the rest of USA look stupid. What you stated is sad and wrong, but you are entitled to that freedom that many have died to give you. Your Welcome.

Posted in: Will the U.S. Marines charge ashore at Kansai airport? See in context

As Mike has stated, we are all responsible for ourselves. A few screw it up for the many and we all pay for it.

I do not see this working out any better. If they have to pay that much to keep the airport afloat, who do you think is going to be footing that bill? Or is that what he wants, so he can keep money circulating within Osaka? Might be a nice change of scenery and help alleviate Okinawa, but I do not see the full benefit of this, if any. Anyone with constructive criticism here?

This is dumb. You know sales are going to rise and fall with game releases. I bet a crap load of PS3's are getting bought up for the FF 13 release.

Posted in: Fans flock to city hotels for rail view See in context

How nice it is to have a hobby :) On Okinawa the Americans destroyed our rail system and prevented it from getting rebuilt. The central terminal was located where the current bus station sits in Naha.

That is why you are getting monorail. It is grand.

Posted in: Movie on Noriko Sakai gets new lead See in context

I think Noriko should be asked to do the part. She can fill in the cracks more easily as far as what the rest of the story is about. Besides, she is really hot.

I guess you did not see that stache that she was sporting.

Anyone know how much of a cut she is getting from this?

Posted in: Obama's bow to emperor causes outrage in Washington See in context

We bow to no one, no one is our better.Ever.

We bow to no one? Wow, as an US member I am embarrased reading that. Do we not bow our heads in prayer? Do we not bow our heads to the departed? Do we not bow our heads in celebration and grievance? We bow, not just to people better or worse but to understand and respect. Or is tolerance not one of our teachings? What our Commander and Chief did was respectible and he was showing good customs and courtesy. Our Leaders here in Japan do it as well as we do salute other military members. There is no difference. Everyone is equal or did you not listen to the President's speech?

Meh, own all three and do not use that stuff. It is for gaming. I can see the teeny boppers getting a kick out of this, but whatever. I can imagine all the random friend requests...

Oh, and PS3 has a trophy system not achievement. That is just for the 360.

Posted in: JUJU looking for man to spend Christmas with See in context

I think Christmas is a bunch a bullcrap anyway. Let's cut down a symbol (the evergreen tree) of everlasting life (your spirit) killing it. Then after you have symbolically destroyed your soul, let's put a bunch of bling on it and spread a lot of materialistic garbage around it. A ritual of how consumerism sucks the soul right out of you. Bah humbug!

Plastic trees are good man, reusable too. Had the same minature tree for 4 years now, same materials and decorations too. The wife and me don't have that much money, but I like seeing her face light up when I get her a gift.

@inkarob-why do you have problems with Amazon? I get the online code for my US MS points all the time. I even buy them for my friends so we can knock stuff out easier. ie, the new South Park Tower Defense game. I have never had to go to Play Asia yet, and their prices suck.

But you can't legitimately get it here. I don't think I could sign up with a Japanese address and credit card.

Very true and that was what I was hinting at.

I see IchyaWarFare either hasn't seen "1 Liter of Tears" or doesn't recognize talent.

I see Sarge is still caught up in his dream of being with Sawajiri. It is ok, you can have seconds.
