Posted in: Canada-EU failure signals more bad news for free trade deals See in context

Any trade deal that can result in changes to the citizenry of a country needs to be accepted or rejected by the citizens. Any purposed plan needs to be voted on. This is the only way! Present two or three proposals on a ballot and let the people decide.

I hope this doesn't give any ideas to train commuters in the major cities of the USA.

Most of the Americans that fought Japanese soldiers still remember how they treated POW's not to mention others they felt needing torture that was not even at war with them. Tit for tat is what I say, they screwed their karma up and it delivered what they deserved.

Wouldn't it be easier to show what the Nazi swastika actually looks on maps so the tourist can see the difference. Why change a symbol of your culture? Educate the tourist.

FrizBit mentions the "Third Way" and not knowing much about it. I probably would be in the same class if it weren't for this article I came across in Huffington Post. Politicians and their so called constituents and all who go to the polls to cast votes for their choices really doesn't matter much anymore. What you'll read here is taking place today in the entire world as we know it.

Posted in: Trump to skip next Republican debate See in context

Personally I think Trumps plan to hold a fundraising rally to support our veterans would be more productive than a seventh so called "debate" (which it really isn't) that will just be another question and answer session. A couple of debates before actual elections are more than enough.

Posted in: TPP deal to be formally signed in New Zealand on Feb 4 See in context

I have tried to read most of the stories that come out about the TPP and I have to say I can not see how this will benefit the middle class workers. Especially here in the USA. We are now experiencing what a trade agreement can do after Clinton signed the NAAFTA into effect in 1993 that went into effect in 1994. The very first thing that happened was people losing their jobs as large corporation shut down operations in the US and moved them to Mexico. All these trade partnerships do is make more money for the major companies that are behind them. We, the USA, already have free trade agreements with most of the countries on this list. Why do we need to sign over more power to corporations?
