Posted in: 55% of Okinawans unhappy with 50 years since reversion to Japan: poll See in context

The people of Okinawa have every reason to be unhappy with the Japanese Govt. because the Japanese Govt. has sacrificed them every chance they have had. Sacrificed them during the Battle of Okinawa to protect Mainland Japan, sacrificed them again by giving them to the U.S. Military in order to get Sovereignty for Japan and sacrificed them again at Reversion time by making secret deals with the U.S. to keep their bases intact and to continue to have full control over them. The J-Govt. even agreed to allow the U.S. to store Nuclear Weapons on Okinawa if needed.

Some U.S. Bases on Okinawa are needed but the Bases on Okinawa are too big for what is actually required. These bases were built by the U.S. Military without any regards for the Quality of Life for the people of Okinawa. They take up most of the best land on Okinawa and are more like U.S. Cities than Military Bases. There are more Military Dependents on Okinawa than Troops and large portions of the land is taken up by Military Family Housing, Dependent Schools and Leisure Facilities. If the Japanese and U.S. Governments were serious about reducing the size of the bases, at least 30 to 40% of the land could be returned without affecting the Military Mission. There is a base called Camp Shields that is near Kadena Air Base and it is home to the Seabees and you can debate whether the Seabees are actually required to be on Okinawa but even if they are, they are part of the Navy and could easily be relocated to the Navy Base at White Beach and Camp Shields could be returned. The problem is that neither the U.S. or Japan cares about the people of Okinawa and never have.

The people of Okinawa owe the Japanese Govt. nothing but the Japanese Govt. will never be able to repay the people of Okinawa for the sacrifices that they have made and continue to make for Mainland Japan.

Posted in: Japan considering high-level dialogue with S Korea See in context

Japan will only deal with Far Right South Korean politicians who will kowtow to Japan. The 1965 agreement was made with the dictator Park Chung-hee who was an officer in the IJA and was assassinated. The 2015 agreement was made with the daughter of Park Chung-hee and she was arrested and sent to prison. If Japan was serious about solving issues pertaining to the colonization of Korea by Japan then they should be willing to negotiate with any govt. that is elected by the people of SK.

If China is really such a Military Threat, then cut Economic Ties with it. Why should Japanese Companies be allowed to make profits by doing business with China while Japanese Taxpayers have their monies spent on weapons to defend Japan against China.

Posted in: Taiwan reports largest incursion yet by Chinese air force See in context

The U.S. Military had bases in Taiwan until 1979 when they removed them to appease China. The U.S. and Japan both sold out Taiwan 50 years ago, leaders of both the U.S. and Japan rushed to China to have their pictures taken with Chairman Mao. You can mostly thank the U.S. and Japan for China becoming an Economic and Military power.

Amazon is not an example of the Free Market System but is an example of the Greedy Capitalism that is destroying the United States. Jeff Bezos does not like the Free Market, he doesn't want competition and has destroyed thousands of small businesses. Bezos spent millions of dollars fighting the union when he should have been spending that money on improving the working conditions of his overworked and underpaid workers. Amazon is an Evil Empire and Jeff Bezos is an Evil Person who has no soul or conscious.

Posted in: Japan to work closely with U.S., S Korea to deal with N Korea See in context

South Korea on it's own could defeat North Korea in a conventional war, it is the nuclear weapons that gives NK any type of military advantage. The UN Command Headquarters is at Camp Humphreys in South Korea and is headed by a U.S. Army General. The UN Command-Rear is at Yokota Japan and is headed by a Group Captain of the Royal Australian Air Force, there are a total of 7 U.S. Bases in Japan that are designated as UN facilities but they are subordinate to the UN Command in SK. There is already an agreement in place to use U.S. Military Bases in Japan to support a military conflict on the Korean Peninsula, all the U.N. Command has to do is notify the Japanese Govt. that the agreement is taking place but the agreement is the authority to use the bases and the J-Govt. cannot say nor would they dare to say no. So in case of military conflict on the Korean Peninsula, the country of Japan is important because of the U.S. Military Bases but the Government of Japan is not important.

Why don't the leaders of the U.S. Australia and Japan press India on their persecution of religious minorities and their horrible treatment of women? India is considered to be one of the most dangerous places in the world for women. Instead of worrying about China, Modi should be worrying about the millions of Indians who live in absolutely miserable conditions including a very large number of working children.

People comparing crimes committed by Japanese citizens to U.S. Military personnel are a little off the mark. Japanese citizens are here by birthright and the U.S. Military is here by a special agreement between the U.S. and Japan. The U.S. Military are here to perform a particular mission and are supposed to be Professional, Highly Trained and Highly Disciplined and should be held more accountable than the average Japanese citizen. If a U.S. soldier is considered to be no different than the average Japanese Citizen, we are in a lot of trouble.

Posted in: Biden, Democrats prevail as Senate OKs $1.9 tril virus relief bill See in context

Biden promised the voters of Georgia that $2000,00. checks would go out immediately if they elected the two Democratic Senators. The voters of Georgia upheld their part of the deal but Biden did not. $2000,00 became $1,400.00 and immediately became almost 2 months after Biden took office.

Weak and cowardly from Biden that he removed the $15.00 minimum wage from the package. The increase in minimum wage is supported by a large majority of both Democratic and Republican voters. Even Florida voted to raise their minimum wage to $15.00 an hour. The voters elected Joe Biden President and not Joe Manchin, Manchin and a handful of Millionaire Dem. moderates should not be allowed to have veto power over legislation that gives a large portion of the people a living wage for doing their job.

So this guy is poisoned with one of the most deadliest nerve agents in the world but makes a full recovery and looks like he has never been sick a day in his life. You would think with a nerve agent that powerful, there would be some visible effects from the poisoning.

Several years ago a father and daughter were poisoned with the same nerve agent but they also made miraculous recoveries. Looks like Russia should outsource their dissident killings to Saudi Arabia. The Saudis never fail and they also never get punished.

Japan spends all of that money on U.S. Forces in Japan but they wont even help Japan keep Chinese ships out of Japan's territorial waters. If the Senkaku Islands fall under the U.S. Japan Security Agreement then at the least, the U.S. should be doing joint patrols with Japan around those islands. All of those people calling for Japan to take military action against China have to remember that firstly, Japan does not have the cojones to do that and secondly the U.S. would never sanction any action for Japan to take that might drag the U.S. into a war with China.

Don't know why SK ever said Japan is a military partner in the first place. Japan has nothing to offer SK militarily, SK gets all of the support that it needs from the United States. SK has a more combat ready and capable military than Japan and the politicians in SK most of whom have military experience are definitely more capable than Japanese politicians in leading a country during wartime. The U.S. Military would use its Bases in Japan to support U.S. Forces in SK in a conflict on the Korean Peninsula regardless of what Japan thinks or says so the bottom line is SK does not need Japan when it comes to fighting a war.
