we both hope Russia won't invade any more countries, right?

When it comes to NATO, I'd support invading Martians if they were fighting NATO. I'm not sure about Moldova. I don't think there is any need as long as they don't try anything regarding Transnistria. Estonia appears to be ok. Not too bad but Latvia and Lithuania are definitely a problem. They build monuments to Nazis and prominent politicians pay homage at those monuments annually.

Posted in: Explosions rock Kyiv again as Russians rain fire on Ukraine See in context

The Russians are winning the war in Ukraine at the front. The social situation in liberated areas. i.e. no partizan attacks, use of rubles, Russian flag and/or Soviet flag flying over government buildings but no trace of Ukrainian flags. Probably even more importantly, they are winning the economic war. The current account surplus has exploded. Instead of buying beds made in China, marked up 500% from Ikea, they buy beds made in China, marked up 200% from Russian knock-offs of Ikea. Instead of buying vegetable oil with a little potato from McDonalds, they are buying potato deep fried from Russian knock offs of McDonalds. And etc etc. But Japan and Western countries are buying more oil, gas, palladium, wood, fish and etc etc from Russia.

And after all the tough words, the EU has decided they will in fact comply with Russian demands to buy gas in rubles. Soon it will be oil, wood, fish and etc as well.

No, no, no!!! The Putin regime must not cut any deals and have nothing but irreconcilable hostility toward Japan for as long as the American occupation regime is in place!

So, raise the interest rate.

Russia knows that if Japan had the Islands, the USA would put their bases there against Russia.

USA specifically ruled out the possibility of guaranteeing they wouldn't put bases there in the event of any Russian territorial concessions. Basically guaranteeing no territorial concessions from Russia at the expense of Japan.

Posted in: French prosecutors issue international arrest warrant for Ghosn See in context

The victims in all this are the workers at Nissan and Renault. Ghosn cut their wages so that he could hire out the Louvre for a party in which all guests, incliding gusts from the highest levels of the French state, were dressed up as 18th century aristocrats. Of course he knows what happened to 18th century French aristocrats. He chose that theme to send a message to the workers, 95% of the population and the creators of all wealth. The message was, "you are utterly powerless. The richest 1% has beaten you down and dominated you to such an extent, we can taunt you without fear of an uprising."

Chinese people generally aren't fat and they have a younger population than the old capitalist powers. On top of all that, the government has gone all out to stop the disease and treat those infected. The low death rate isn't surprising but would be if it were any other way.

It's a great idea. Increase it by a factor or 2 or 3 as long as the money is taken from the richest 1% to pay for it otherwise the recipients and everyone else will pay for it via inflation.

Posted in: U.S., Japan, EU affirm swift aid to Ukraine as assault in east starts See in context

There is absolutely no doubt at all that if the people of Donbass were allowed to participate in a free and fair referendum of it's continued existence in Ukraine, independence or Russian annexation, the first of those choices would have gained the fewest votes by a very wide margin. The latter would have been the most likely to win but independence would have had significant support.

Libya gave up it's WMD program and 5 years later NATO attacked. Turned by far the most successful North African country to a region wracked by war in which slaves are bought and sold in street markets. The bitter fruit of NATOs existence. Hopefully for the sake of the general population the North Korean regime has enough nukes and deliversy systems to take out at least a dozen major US cities. 1 or 2 isn't enough. The US regime will sacrifice 1 or 2 cities without a moments hesitation.

Posted in: Presidents from 4 countries on Russia's doorstep visit Ukraine See in context

why do you think these free democratic nations tend to have far better economies than the rest

The US dominated part of the world had a much stronger economy after the war due to Europe and the Soviet Union destroying each other and China in the midst of a once in 5000 years rut.

The advantage was so large, it's said the US had a larger economy vis-a-vis rivals than ancient China and Rome had over their rivals.

What an astounding failure it has been since. It's due to imperialism, unending wars of aggression, occupation forces and etc. i.e. due to capitalism but even then, the decline of US and its lackey states has been breathtaking.

Putin's invasion and war against Ukraine were to prevent the country from joining NATO but now both Finland and Sweden are likely to now join NATO because of Putin's actions.

Never mind the fact the vast majority of the population are against it. Only someone completely deluded would believe that matters to NATO/German EU Reich or their clients in Finland and Sweden.

According to Wikipedia, in Lvov and the surrounding lands Stalin granted to the Ukraine, Stephan Bandera has around 30% "strong support". In Odessa the figure is between 1%~2% with just under 50% "strongly despise".

the liberation of Odessa and the opening a land bridge between Russia and Moldova has to be the next objective.

Posted in: Russia acknowledges significant troop losses in Ukraine See in context

Russia has already lost this war and will suffer the consequences for years to come.

All for one little man’s delusions and fragile ego. A tragic waste.

This is political erotica. Almost all of Donbass has been liberated. A land bridge between Russia and Crimea has been established. NATO has lost access to the sea of Azov. Russia is firmly in control of the facilities which generate over 40% of the electricity in the Ukraine. An offensive to liberate Odessa could at any time which would cancel access to the Black Sea for Ukraine.

There is a reason the regime is desperately asking NATO to intervene.

Posted in: Russia acknowledges significant troop losses in Ukraine See in context

This is very predictable. Ukraine had the second largest army in Europe and armed to the teeth with the latest NATO weaponry and the Azov Battalion and etc may be fascist animals but unfortunately they are rabid as well. At least 20k fought to the death in Mariupol.

On top of that, the Russians mean to win the war. If they did as NATO does, go in and blast anything with a pulse and then hide behind heavily fortified walls, they'd have few losses but each one of them would be utterly pointless as they'd lose the war.

Another intercepted phone call released by the Russians.

SBU official identified as Sergey Anatolyevich speaking to someone named Lesogor

“From March 24 to April 3, after we pushed the ‘orcs’ away from here. After the unit that pushed them out moved on, the territorial defense came from Malin … and marauded during that time. Looted everything they could. Broke down doors, everything. Safes were opened, cars were stolen. They stuffed the cars with everything worth anything and took it away,” .

Whether they were forced into prostitution politically or economically, the end result is the same. The same applies to every other kind of slavery. Capitalist economy is 100% to blame but those enforcing capitalism are the ones who justifiably get blamed. The Japanese state is to blame for Korean prostitutes when Japan was the occupying power. Now, the Korean state is to blame for Korean prostitutes.

Conventional weapons include small arms, defensive shields and light weapons, sea and land mines, as well as bombs, shells, rockets, missiles and cluster munitions

I am pretty sure the Russian military has ticked all of these boxes in their efforts so far.

Rocket artillery, fuel air explosives, heavy bombers are specifically what I was thinking about.

But you would agree that the press is western democracies is freer than in, say, China or Russia?

Freer than China? Probably but debatable. Freer than Russia? Almost certainly not but debatable. The Russians have said unequally, they will allow EU and/or NATO media in Russia if EU / NATO countries allow Russian media but nope, EU / NATO not interested in that.

so Russia alone cannot defeat Ukraine

Russian can use conventional weapons to defeat the Ukraine in hours but it would mean killing millions of people they mean to reunite with to fight against fascism.

Doubtful it exists at all. It most certainly doesn't in Norway as it most certainly doesn't anywhere in EU or NATO.
