Posted in: Japanese firms try to encourage paternity leave under new law See in context

I recommend that they let us use some of our nenkin for the paternity leave. Then people would be able to use some of their money before they die and companies won't have to shoulder the burden. Why should they when the government's holding on to all of our money, like they're even better than a bank.

If North Korea is such a threat why are we not preparing all men of fighting age. Throwing more money to the military industrial complex is the only reflex the government has. The truth is. Even the women and children must prepare to fight if there really is a problem.

The defense money is being misappropriated. The bigwigs are going to be getting their rockets off but who's going to stop a million men from coming over and pummeling the women? If they're so worried maybe they should distribute guns to everyone.

It will shake after solar storms wane, just like it always does. Seriously, look into it. Put the app space weather live on your phone. Pay particular attention to when there are Earth spots simultaneously, like typhoons or cyclones.

You fooling yourself if you think this is going to hurt Russia more than Japanese people. Now they can charge us more for the things that we're getting from Russia. Are you ready to pay more for your corn flakes? Wheat flakes? Don't sanctions usually mean the prices go up?

That's another way of saying, open the borders before we have to pay locals a living wage. It's very burdensome to have to abide to by labor standards laws. Under these circumstances the government is likely to budge.

Nobody could have ever expected this. How could they have known? They had never had this case before, and I'll bet there is no record of anybody warning them of this neglected situation. I guess nobody informed the relevant ministry by fax to have proof that they knew.

They probably space the residences perfectly in places where they want to build the seawall to justify it. I really hope there are no children. I would consider moving there if they gave me a bunch of grant money and a perfect 10 with bad teeth or something. I can hear the banjo playing already.

Posted in: Tokyo's COVID alert at 2nd-highest level as capital reports 3,124 new cases See in context

What are all these anti-vaxxers doing this to us and themselves. Come on suck up a couple of boosters. Take one for the team. Do it for the work. They're going to leave governments and pharmaceutical companies with little money to make the next vaccine cocktail. Besides, anyone who knows anything knows that you might be less likely to catch the virus for a very short window or end up in the hospital, maybe.

Imagine a scenario where all resources were spent on a vaccine, and if everyone doesn't take it, and pay for it, there won't be a way to make the next vaccine.

Posted in: Border restrictions force 300 foreigners to decline Japan teacher jobs See in context

This is opening the door for more staff companies to swindle unsuspecting foreign teachers. Never let them withhold one month's salary. You must stand strong that you should receive payment within the first 30 days. If someone complains that you didn't wear your mask right, you could be out of a job, two months salary, need to find a new place to stay, and have to get a new Visa sponsor.

Posted in: Mask up See in context

Although masks maybe somewhat effective, they create a hostile work environment when anybody claims that you had your nose sticking out. For many foreigners, trainees, and English teachers, there are no labor standards that will protect you and nobody that will listen to you therefore masks are very problematic

This is really bad news. Coincidentally, the local Vietnamese trainees invited me for dinner last night and we had a great time. They are very hospitable and warm people. Japanese are pretty hospitable to the Vietnamese trainees, too. There are a couple shady companies that have occurrences and things go bad. Even English teachers face pressures from staff companies which are similar to what trainees experience. We are all in the same boat.

I think the money goes to the head of household because they're responsible for paying all the taxes and family revenues. Because money doesn't grow on trees, it's always best to help people who have children first. It's not fair and equal so all you singles grab a hold of them bootstraps.
