The Brisbane CBD is, at least as I post, still operational. A lot of people aren't coming into work though because they either can't make it in from surrounding satellite cities, or they fear they may end up trapped in by flooding. It's certainly not anywhere near being a ghost city, but compared to usual it's very quiet.
I've been very fortunate as I only live about 20 minutes by car south of Brisbane but there's no indication whatsoever here of flooding. Without the reports, you wouldn't even know there was a major disaster zone only 30 minutes away.
And it would be a great surprise if there were any crocodiles floating around here. The odd shark or two that might be around are only the little ones that would barely nibble a toe.
