Posted in: Man arrested over hit-and-run death of woman he met through online dating site See in context

Online dating sites are like gambling houses (casinos), you take a chance based on reasonable assumptions (reading a bluff) of the Girl/Guy through online chat, meeting them in person is a risk, but you take it, betting on the win (meaningful relationship). If the relationship goes South, or worse, the Dating Wesbsite i.e The House (assuming it is a paid service) always wins, regardless.

@toshiko

I think you are onto something. The man is unemployed, probably not getting enough food, because he doesn't have money. Probably no friends. Prison would give him 3 healthy meals a day and 'interesting' people to talk to, maybe make some friends in the slammer.

I don't get why this is a problem in the first place, it's not like he slapped the Emperor in the face...

Posted in: Why do you think that passengers on board the missing Malaysian Airlines plane didn't make mobile phone calls when they realized something was wrong? Authorities say there were no phone calls, Twitter See in context

I'll go with the sleeping gas / nerve agent theory. If this was planned and excecuted by professionals, replacing the Oxygen with sleeping gas, or even adding it to the mix would incapacitate all. As for the 'Online' mystery, as the airplane probably flied low to avoid radar, it could have been close to a cell tower to be able to connect.

Posted in: What do you think of the names that Japanese automakers give to their cars? See in context

@Okinawamike -

Colt Bakkie

The Colt, not too sure, but the "bakkie" part is an Afrikaans (Dutch Dialect spoken in South Africa) word that means small bowl or container. As I understand it, this vehicle is a "pick-up truck", so the back part in essence is the small bowl to put stuff in.

Reflecting the praise the Self-Defense Force (SDF) won for its rescue efforts after the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in 2011

This is why Japan needs the SDF, not to protect them from China or whatever, but to help those effected by NATURAL disasters, of which Japan has many. People should stop thinking that Japan is building up to become a military powerhouse and more to protect themselves from the hostile natural enviroment.
