Should be raised, not lowered. Such destructive habits!

Why are they called migrants now? They are refugees. Is calling them migrants a way to show them in a bad light to make it easier to turn them away?

Men should start getting in on when they are young, stop hanging around other boys and start dating for crying out loud.

It doesn't matter if it is "Tokyo Olympics" or "Japan Olympics". Tokyo is Japan.

Posted in: Friday will be the 20th anniversary of the sarin gas attacks on the Tokyo subway system by the Aum Shinrikyo cult. Why do people join cults? See in context

My previous Japanese company was like a cult. There is pride and purpose, but also much pressure to dedicate and devote yourself. There is even institutional veneration of the founder. People join because they want to belong. I feel many aspects of society are like cults, but depending on our wide-spread acceptance we designate it a cult or not. We cannot say that "cults" are more dangerous than "religions", that is simply not true. We cannot say "cults" are more deceptive or secretive than "companies", that is simply not true. One group are "freedom fighters" and another group "terrorists". One belief is false and another belief is acceptable. We are bias. We decided what is conventional and what is extremist based upon our bias ideas.

Posted in: When pedophiles or minors convicted of violent crimes are released from prison, do you think residents in communities they move to should be informed of who they are and where they are living? See in context

That's a strange grouping to put pedophiles in with minors that committed crimes.

Pedophiles, yes

Minors, no

Posted in: 8-year-old girl killed by truck while crossing street with mother, sister See in context

Slow down! Speed is the killer. I live in an area with many schools, and there for many children, in a small area. Cars, especially Taxis, bomb through this area all the time. I cringe so often at the fact of no speed bumps or other ways to get drivers to slow down.

Posted in: Although Japan's Juvenile Law prohibits media from publishing the names and photos of minors arrested for crimes, people have been using social media to circulate the names, photos, addresses and tele See in context

Unfortunately it applies to adults as well. If you are accused then your are presumed guilty in the media and this is very hard to wash off no matter if even get indicted or not. They hide the identity of minors since even if found guilty society judges that they will change and deserve a second chance. Why not the same for adults if we truly believe in rehabilitation?

Posted in: 18-yr-old suspect admits killing Kawasaki boy to punish him See in context

The world has many bad people who prey on the little ones; disaster when we let our guard down. We need to work together to protect children from these predators. I don't see one single failure here as the reason that this tragedy happened. I do not have a good answer of how to deal with teenage murderers. My emotionally charged response is probably not the best answer for society.

Posted in: Kawasaki boy told friend on Line he might get killed See in context

Super depressing.I can't believe there are no arrests yet. I wonder that if this story gets to the foreign news would that put more pressure on the justice system to act decisively? I assume real Yakuza think that brutalizing a naked 13 year old and leaving him to bleed to death crosses the line. Hope so...
