Sniffing tennis racket handles is a gateway. Next thing you know, he will be smelling sneakers and socks. And then, well this is a family paper.

A very sad day. I've visited Paris three times and was planning to return this fall. Attending mass at Notre Dame cathedral is a memorable experience. I probably will still stop at the church and shed a tear.

On second thought, comparing a housewife to the president, really isn't fair. Everybody loves a mommy and a housewife.

Ask not what Japan can do for you, but what you can do for Japan. Put down those smartphones, X boxes and videos. Get out there and let the women know you are ready to put out.

Posted in: Australian man arrested for spraying graffiti on Tokyo subway cars See in context

I remember years ago an American kid was arrested in

Singapore and sentenced to 6 lashes for graffiti There was such an uproar about how unfair the punishment was. Sometime later the little sob returned to the US and committed the same crime.

Maybe punishment doesn't deter crime, but a real good harsh sentencing would make the taxpayers feel better.

This guy from Australia ought to have his butt lashed so hard that he walks on his tip toes for months.

I'm always so impressed by the cleanliness of the trains and stations, and then have some neanderthal do this just frost my butt.

Posted in: Odd translations found on English websites for tourists in Japan See in context

I think part of the problem here, is that people depend too much on Google Translate. I would never depend on a translation device. They're not even very good at interpreting the instructions on a hotel air conditioner.

That's what I love about my Google phone. I don't have to buy sim cards, I don't have deal with anyone. I simply turn off my phone before leaving home and turn it back on when I land in Japan. Good to go. AND it's good in a 130 some countries. That was main selling point when I was looking for my first smartphone.
