Social security is crumbling as current working generation cannot support the rapidly growing pensioner population.
Some intragenerational wealth redistribution from rich seniors to the poor would help matters, but is very unlikely to be championed by politicians who will want to cater to the gray vote in order to get elected.
Japan will show the rest of the world how ageing democracies play out their end game.
