I live very close to where this happened. There is a convenience store on the first floor of this new apartment building. The kid was sick and the mother went down to the convenient store to get him something. That is when it happened. I am not defending anyone or giving my opinion but the article makes it sound like the mother was off shopping for a long period of time.
