Suga man, please stop already, who will ever take him seriously after this anyways. He already lost all credibility in my opinion.

It's pretty clear that the Japanese government is doing an excellent job of testing only those tha tmight be infected rather than testing everyone else that do not need to be tested.
What are you talking about??
The only thing they are excellent at is taking as little responsibility as possible and doing everything they can to force the Olympics.

Japan, as usual trying to save face by putting out some international news that they are doing something. Meanwhile in reality all they do is have some more meetings, start urging, and ignore every situation where rules get broken and lines get crossed.

“ The state of emergency will:
ask residents to refrain from nonessential outings after 8 p.m.
call for restaurants and bars to stop serving alcohol by 7 p.m. and close by 8 p.m.
encourage companies to have employees work from home or stagger shifts to reduce people in office by 70 percent.
not ask schools to close, unlike previous state of emergency last spring. “
We'll know they mean business once they start urging ;)

What does he even mean second lockdown? as if the first SOE became close to an actual lockdown, and neither will this one. Just a whole lot of meetings and urging.

Start to think positive. 1300 is a baby number compared to the millions in the Tokyo/Yokohama area
The amount of tests is usually also a baby number compared to the millions of people. Don't you get it?

Oh man, government can't even handle the original strain. If this thing gets out of control, and knowing this government it will, I wonder how they will possibly spin it to try and desperatly hold on to the garbage fire titled The Olympics.

Suga is a joke. Something drastic needs to change, when this guy steps down again because his popularity keeps dropping, a new Abe/Suga clone will take his place and Japan can never really improve as a country.

Here in the Netherlands the restrictions are quite severe, and since yesterday a law was out in place to wear masks indoors in public places, resulting in a 95 euro fine if you don’t. I was surprised last week when I came back after 5 years in Japan, to see more people wearing masks here than in Japan. Then again, cases have been going down lately, even with winter starting. Since today also everyone can get tested, regardless if you have symptoms or not, and it’s free.
