Jimizo, maybe you should find some nicer female gaijin friends? Yours sound like complete jerks.

And Mr. Noidall, you're quite right and I do apologise. I should have said don't puke on your mobility walker instead. So sorry.

Golly, Jimizo, I've heard worse words, too, and used by us dainty ladies, too, imagine that!!

And when you specified that we get outraged when we see gaijin men with PRETTY Japanese women??? Are you concerned that we don't care about the ugly ones, too?! /s

I think that that comment reveals a lot more about you than you realize.

Nothing is wrong with wanting to feel or be edgy and special, but it's cheating a bit, isn't it, when it's mainly the novelty of being an exotic foreigner that attracts people to you? Both women and men in Japan are prone to forgetting that their specialness doesn't really stem from having succeeded in art or industry or skills or personal charisma, but from the color of your skin.

I agree, there's nothing wrong at all with women or men finding a stranger attractive, and striking up a conversation that leads to a date or more. It's fun.

"Picking up a girl" though, to those of us who actually inhabit this more egalitarian age, sounds predatory and aggressive, not to mention redolent of "Mad Men" attitudes toward women as objects rather than fellow humans.

When you puke, though, try to keep it off your tie this time, k thx.

Maria, I agree with you completely. Most of Japan (and the gaijin bros who come here to feel edgy and special) still retains sexist (and racist) thinking that dates back to the 1950s, or even the 1850s.

People who complain about things being "too PC?" You realize that what you are really saying is, "I want the freedom to say derogatory and offensive things without being criticized," right?

Illyas, show us the great numbers of conservatives who are physically bullied, attacked, and murdered for having repressive views. Then I'll show you the stats on similar incidents for LGBTQ people. Then I'll show you the words FALSE EQUIVALENCE in the dictionary.

Like there's room to do all that on the most crowded trains. Best solution is a big sharp safety pin in either hand. Stab it in deep and rip hard.

I agree. She is a very classic Japanese beauty.

The official rate for mental illness sufferers in Japan is 24%, according to Japan's own government.

That's pretty much 1 in 4, not 4%.
