"The vehicle carrying Tanaka, a senior member of a gangster group linked with the Kudo-kai crime syndicate, arrived at the police station in Kyoto shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday as a swarm of reporters and photographers awaited his arrival outside the building."

Lot's of leaks in the Police Force.

Posted in: Japan to encourage online medical care as COVID, flu spread in winter See in context

Madatory isolation ends in Australia today. It's like covid didn't exist. We've moved on and Japan needs to as well.

Covid is still here but now it's seen as more like the flu. People are encoraged to stay home if they're sick llke any other illness but that's all.

Masks are mandatory at aged care facilities and hospitals but actually makes sense covid or not.

Great way to create more fear and step further backwards compared to most other Western nations.

Take a moment this Saturday night to watch 100,000 AFL fans celebrating the grandfinal and try to find more than a handful of people wearing masks. Australia is down to Hospitals, Aged Care facilities and visiting jails where masks are still required.

So my Japanese wife can travel to Japan from Australia, stay where she wants, travel where she wants, not wear a mask if she wants but I have to book airfares and hotel accommodation for each night through a travel agent and apply for a visa..... We're both double boosted so then why am I considered such a greater risk?

I'm living in Australia and pandemic.... What pandemic?

Try to spot someone wearing a mask!!!

Say a tripple vaccinated traveller or even a thousand arrived in Japan.... It's just not going to change Japanese case numbers. I wish they'd just get over these restrictions and open up.

The sooner, the better. It's almost situation normal in Australia. Full stadiums, full restaurants, full shopping centres, tourists returning, falling hospitalisations and almost no mask wearing.

But being fully vacinated, double boosted, and married to a Japanese lady for 25 years I am still considered a transmission risk and am unable to enter without a compelling reason, applying for exemption, and testing negative before entering. As soon as they ditch border restrictions the better. Covid is well and truly here to stay. It's time to move on.

I wish Japan would do the same.

Masks should be a persons personal choice. Mask or no mask Covid is here to stay. Am glad Japan is realising and now committed to opening up.

Simple.. postpone it one year, start the build up, and it'll go down as being one of the greatest games ever. Hold it in 16 weeks and it'll go down in history as most likely one of the worst.
