everyone's jokes and puns here are so lame that they actually end up being funny -_-

But yeah, definitely not a random murder.

"It’s not fantastic in Australia"

I here that Ryan haha. We really have no cultural identity though. If you want a bit of substance in anything you need to leave the country. We're just too young. Good on this guy for doing something he loves.

I guess America isn't the only country that has an unusual number of bad apples in its military.

Can be said for nearly all militaries no doubt. The good thing about this is that it has been actually acknowledged. Think of all the cases in other militaries where they have been covered up or told never to speak of it etc.

Of course it will be a flop. Disney will make it into a movie for young adults and pre teens. It will be the nail in the coffin. Gear up for the next SW disney ride... you will only have to wait 6 hours to get a go -_-

Posted in: Japan's secret economic weapon: women See in context

Why has our society become so focused and geared to financial results and GDP figures. It's the intangible things like families spending time together and eating home cooked meals that really matter in life, not corporate balance sheets.

Understandable and I agree, but spending time with your family doesn't put food on the table. I think women SHOULD be part of the workforce 100%. Even if they take 3-4 years off when they have a kid, the kid doesn't need to be overly 'mothered' they should go back to the workforce once the child is old enough.

I have apple everything.... Macbook pro, 27inch apple thunderbolt display, I check my responsive designs on my ipad, I have an iphone.

With that being said, I will love google 100x more than apple any day of the week. Google have done so much for so many different dev communities. Google is my hero and I really want one of those new samsung galaxy 3's

Until google can create a desktop based operating system that runs all my required programs. Ill be sticking to OSx for my designing / development needs.

But it is, as you say, a pain in the rear end having to explain to people I'm not American. The usual question is, "What part of the States are you from?"

Haha, bertie, I hear that. Except telling people your not american isn't just limited to japan. I have known a few americans to say they are canadian depending on what part of the world they are in. It makes sense though, I simple white lie can save you a heck of a lot of trouble.

As a foreigner, the last place i would want to visit in japan is Okinawa... I get the impression everyone would just eyeball you thinking you are part of the military. Seems like a pain in the ass to tell every japanese person you meet out that you aren't american and you aren't in the military.

You gotta feel for the people of Okinawa. If i were them, my empathy for the US and its military would of dried up long, long ago.

Climate changing IS happening... weather its caused by things that humans are doing or its a just a natural progression of our planet. The point is, we should be looking at renewable sources of energy - which for the most part we are. Unfortunately it will take decades for our efforts to be noticeable.

ps. making remarks like "stop using your pc" are just as annoying as people saying we are doomed.

Well, that is obvious, since in that case the police would not KNOW about it. I am all game for criticizing the J-cops, but this accusation is groundless.

What im saying willi B if the reaction wasn't AS BIG. If it was uploaded to any video sharing site and only got say... 100 hits... I doubt the cops would have done anything.

honestly... not that hard to do when drunk.. Seen it happen a lot.. had it happen to my own house once. People come home drunk, all the apartments look the same.. pass out somewhere.

That being said... all the cases that I know of don't involve military soliders who also have a curfew... guess these guys just dont get it?? Is it that hard to follow orders.. don't be out past a certain time.

Posted in: Japanese company advertises jobs online: 'We do not employ smokers' See in context

The only thing I dont like about this is that is opens up too many other potentials. For example we don't hire people that eat fast food, we don't hire people who drink, we don't hire people who swear. On a base level is becomes discrimination.

They should still hire people who smoke like any one else, BUT they should quite clearly tell all employees that they don't get smoke breaks. If you are caught leaving the building not on your lunch and you are smoking, your gone.

Otherwise these sorts of things get well out of hand. Furthermore it shouldn't be up to a company to discourage smoking, there needs to be more government help. Taxes, plain packaging etc.

This problem would not occur if it were the real deal. Plain old mary jane is next to harmless. Although im not sure if I would want to see it legalized... in saying that, if access to the real deal wasn't as hard as it currently is in japan. These problems would stop dead in their tracks.

Posted in: Christmas decorations and illumination displays are already up in many parts of Japan and in some other countries, too. Do you think it is too early? See in context

What kind of poll is this? People who believe in God/Christ/Christmas/Bible have been setting up Xmas decorations as early a November around the WORLD. Anyway most Japanese don't believe much in any religion so, why not go with the flow?

My fmaily are strict christians... but they definitely do not share in the love for decorations.. Thats a pretty big generalization you just made ... my mum would have the tree taken down on boxing day if she could... but me nor any of my brothers are willing to do anything on boxing day lol.

If its not december no decorations needed. I think thats simple enough. But considering it's still early november decorations now are WAAAAaaaay to early.
