300 shots? my town hall has been doing 3 batches of 10 or 12 people per hour each day, which amounts to close to the same daily rate. but boy, I bet the Shibuya/youth plan looked good on paper (⌒▽⌒). it's perhaps what comes of focussing on brownie points rather than vaccinating folk.

meanwhile, Onjuku (in Chiba-ken) which is and has been under the SOE, has decided to close its waterpark 6 days early, in the interests of Covid-safety..... even though families have been shouting and frolicking for several weeks, the beach meanwhile being 'closed'.
interestingly, since the beach 'closed', people have been self-distancing, stringing themselves out along the shore, rather than being jammed together in a small "safe" cordoned-off area (of sand and water).... with such random and conflicting 'rules', no wonder some people are ignoring the SOE......

was reading something by Peter Lundgren, an MEP for Sweden.... that country having no hard lockdowns and etc and etc, relying on citizens' common sense.... allowing people to think for themselves in other words, act like responsible adults. J-Gov couldn't conceive such an approach of course.... nor the people, evidently.... and anyway, nothing is as important as the Olympics..... (talking of common sense.... or lack of it)

call me simplistic, and possibly traitorous, but seems to me that people who fancy a quiet beer, or a glass of wine with their meal, wouldn't be a danger.... while those who want to get smashed will do so anyway. aAaand.... I see plenty of people who are not imbibing alcohol, shouting into their fone, or at the person next to them, often pulling down their mask to facilitate same..... as usual, laws and ordinances adversely affect the reasonable folk, while the others do what they do anyway..... got fed up with Docomo years back, bought an unlocked fone online, signed up with Asahinet (insluding English support, up to a point), paying half what I payed previously.... and am about to switch to Sakura as they offer a plan that suits my usage better..... very cheap....
always gobsmacked when I visit he UK, how easy (and cheap) it all is. just pop into a newsagent, a supermarket, almost anywhere, buy a sim (choice of many plans), pay, done!
a pity that Japan hasn't figured out that being competitive, and offering good service for a reasonable price (and not just re: fones) can be profitable. 鎖国lives!
