why doesn't Kishida focus on China and Taiwan instead of Ukraine? Get Japan, Russia and India to form a triangle to surround and contain China. I bet that's what Xi is afraid of the most (I am Chinese American Viet) and he's kissing up to Putin because he doesn't want paranoid surroundings. I love Japan and Hong Kong. Not too hot about Taiwan, but they're a must for chips. America won't be with you this month, we have Trump to deal with. Sorry Japan and Korea. You can't rely on France and England either. Germany is a nerd.

America has gone through ten generations of fighting and building our nation to provide security for our people. We have been through trade skirmishes with China and land wars in Asia, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea and Vietnam, all of which did not benefit us. WE ARE NOT GOING TO DO IT AGAIN FOR TAIWAN OR ANYWHERE ELSE. We have enough problems of our own. We have allowed political infighting to the point where neighbor cannot live with neighbor; our borders are unmanageable; racial riots, homelessness, school shootings are everywhere. Its a tinderbox waiting to explode. To Asians, if you want something do it yourselves. We're tired of Japanese Korean Vietnamese complaining all the time. DO IT YOURSELF PLEASE

China doublespeak w/ regard to Afghan withdrawal and their role in Central Asia? Maybe.... but IMO China is just speaking to its own citizens when its saying these things.
From a Chinese-Vietnamese perspective, they only care what their own citizens think; they don't care what the rest of the world thinks. They don't care about what Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese people think or do behind their backs. They want to have a vestige or decorum in front of them.

If Japan's navy is four to five times bigger than China's, we need to build more ships? Don't they just have one aircraft carrier while we have the united states navy and even the uk aircraft carrier here? Is this the military industrial complex, japanese version?

Help Thailand build the Kra Canal, or China will build it and control it, and our Indo-Pacific strategy will be for nought... Right now , Singapore is reaching capacity, Piracy and accidents have risen on the malacca strait, Thailand is eager but too poor, and covid has destroyed tourism and too many people in the region are unemployed, looking for work; The amount of people overfishing live reef food fish, thus destroying sustainable populations alone is enough to get them to build the canal, a win win for Japan, Korea and India. It could be finished in 5 years and is the oldest infrastructure project planned , since 1664.

Posted in: Japan puzzled by Indonesia's policy shift over high-speed rail plan See in context
It's about building more access from Indian to Pacific Ocean, too. Japan should help Thailand build the Kra Canal and support Indonesia. Otherwise, Indo-Pacific strategy is for nought. a) Singapore is congested b)Piracy is up c)Thailand is poor d)Tourism is pretty much dead and changed e)Too many unemployed people in tropics overfishing the coral triangle and kra project could employ 30,000 f0 if US, Japan korea and India won't build it, China will!
