Posted in: NPO, citizens call for Japan aid for poison gas victims in China See in context

More than 50 Chinese victims lodged a series of damages suits in Japan against the government. But they lost those cases because Japanese courts ultimately did not acknowledge the legal responsibility of the government.

yeap what else is new.... nobody is ever responsible for any wrongdoing by the govt here...

japanese companies even treat their local staff like crap (though not as bad as foreign trainee workers)... the first step is to change the general work culture in this country!

The Tokyo District Court ruled against Wood in 2020, saying it did not find “reasonable grounds” for believing there was harassment. It also criticized Wood for taking his case public instead of quietly resolving the dispute with the company, which has made some changes to its parental leave policies since Wood’s dismissal.

wow the Tokyo court criticizing Wood for taking this public! and saying this is not harassment! unbelievable!

The 1945 battle, during the final phase of World War II, claimed the lives of over 200,000 civilians and soldiers from the Japanese and American militaries. Fighting took place from March through June of that year.

i'm curious if the japanese govt has ever apologized to the Okinawans for how they were treated during WWII... if not, they should!

i don't know much about martial arts but when i was a kid, i played for a local football club back home... we have one training session mid week and our matches on saturday mornings... coaches wanted us to have fun and be supportive of one another...

only if you wanted to be professional then you could join a professional local club (where you may get scouted to join an academy like Ajax)... here you would train 5-6 times a week and everything is all serious...

but here in Japan, i feel like the kids have no choice and they only have one program where they just go hardcore on the kids...

Akiba Dental Clinic also mentions several times on its website and Twitter account that it understands that some people are afraid of going to the dentist, and may have been avoiding checkups or treatments for a long time, but that anyone is welcome to come in for a free consultation.

why does society need this? if you're afraid of the dentist then just ask for laughing gas... it'll calm all nerves!

The new organization, expected to be named the "children and families agency," is due to launch in April 2023. It will unify policies across multiple government ministries and entities to better deal with imminent issues concerning children, such as declining birth rates, child poverty and sex crimes.

unify policies across multiple govt ministries? it sounds like its just a merger of govt departments so i'm not expecting too much change...

enough with the excuses - anyone who can speak and read English should have no problem navigating in Japan!

as for Asians who don’t know English, my wife says the pharmacy stores always have someone who speaks mandarin that help Chinese tourists…

cut the crap and let the tourist roam around as they wish!

Posted in: Gov't preparing to resume foreign tourist entry in June See in context

story too short.

does tourists have to be vaccinated-does they need show any covid pass?

does tourists can come even in case if they are not vaccinated?

does tourists have to pay for some kind of tests-wif yes what tests are needed and what is pricey for test?

final question-daily cap is 20.000 people how about if somoen will be 20.001st.what can he /she do..stay at airport?if yes where he/she will stay and who will pay for stying costs/for example some hotel/?

why we dont get all info in full and clear?how some potential tourist can be satisfied by your short "information" and convinced to invest money and come to Japan for a pricey trip?

it says government is still preparing so very likely that means they haven't ironed out all these details yet

you know how it is with this govt - takes forever to get something done! slow and steady wins the race right?

The fact that the United States will grow faster that China this year

Bloomberg research predicts USA to grow 2.7% vs China to grow 2% this year.... there is a caveat though, these predictions does change depending on how events work out (i.e. China's zero policy changes if any etc..) so its better to wait till the end of 2022 to really be sure whether USA did grow faster
