[Tillerson "has made more than a dozen phone calls and participated in several in-person meetings" in efforts to tamp down the crisis, the State Department said.]

Have you tried taking away Trump's twitter privileges? Perhaps have him stop speaking altogether? Maybe have him stop trying to pass things that only hurts ourselves as a whole and our neighbors and close allies? Those would be the best things you could do.

"And this was happening for 8 years right under Obama's nose. There are three ways to look at this;"

Or, Qatar does fund external forces, but by far are not the likes of Daesh and their ilk which is what Saudi is using. We know Qatar are funding certain factions, but when was the last time you heard of the Muslim Brotherhood or Hamas blowing themselves up or attacking a western nation in recent history? Or for that much having so much disregard for civilian casulties even in the Middle East in general compared to Daesh?

America can be so stupid at times. We have to be all the way on one side or the other instead of coming to common ground in the middle.

I believe a home owner should be able to protect his family with "basic" firearms, maybe even carry a pistol for defense out side of the home. But when you are not in a defensive role, but actually want what basically amounts to military grade hardware, you have crossed the line.

When a person can be arrested for carrying a knife longer than six inches or the palm of their hand or illegal to even posses certain knives because of how they open, but you can carry a weapon that can shoot accurately 300 meters or more and have on you an abundant amount of ammo and be perfectly with in your right, that is stupid.

When allowing almost anyone to purchase a handgun, with no prior training, no physic evaluation or really running a back ground check of anykind, that is stupid. Even before you get your driver's license they at least test that you can drive the freaking thing!

Ditto!

"Ohh, if only Democrats would spend more time helping America instead of chasing more rabbits down holes, they might actually be credited with contributing to their country and might win a few elections, but now I think that's asking them way too much. Enjoy the forest."

They did with Obama, (and still do) something Trump is so feverishly trying to reverse. Only because there are some intelligent Republicans left, are they forcing Trump not to totally dismantle everything with a Democratic name on it.

"Whether you voted for Trump or not, was a supporter of Hillary or Sanders words matter in the sense, if you call people stupid or incompetent or whatever epithet you use doesn't go well with people."

You do realise that Trump says the most stupid, disrespectful and hateful things, followed by actions of the same horrid rhetoric. Perhaps you should tell him to behave first. His bad habits must be rubbing off on people...

"Oops! Trumped again by Twitter! It's amusing to watch Trump's team -- legal or politcal -- struggle to explain the man's inability to keep his mouth shut. Haha."

The Secret Service in this instance, is not to protect the president, but to keep him away from his cell phone. They are doing a poor job of it.

I am not trying to make lite of the situation... But didn't someone, "anyone" see the other vessel!? Do they not have lights on either vessels, spot lights at the very least on the Destroyer? Do they not use radar these days or look outs!?

With events like these, NK does not have much to worry about.

Hopefully any overboard crewmen are found safe and sound and those injured get a full recovery on both sides.

["making good on a campaign promise to take a tougher line against Cuba, especially over its human rights record."]

[His critics, however, have questioned why his administration is now singling out Cuba for its human rights record but downplaying the issue in other parts of the world, including Saudi Arabia, a close U.S. ally Trump visited last month that grants few political freedoms to its citizens.]

[Still, it will be the latest attempt by Trump to overturn parts of Obama's presidential legacy. He has already pulled the United States out of a major international climate treaty and is trying to scrap his predecessor's landmark healthcare program.]

Any good that Democrats have done, Trump will do what he can to reverse it. If what Trump actually did was better I would not really have a problem with it. But everything he touches bleeds and dies.

Democrats are for helping America as a whole and the world, while Republicans are only worried about themselves. The differences are very clear.

The problem is however, that the majority of those misguided individuals who vote Republican fail to realize that they themselves do not benefit from their own party either. Only the very top crust benefit.

Usually the majority of Republicans support their chosen president, but clearly we are seeing this is not the case this time around. It just goes to show not all Republicans are completely delusional and greedy.

Remember, even if you vote Republican because you do not want to be shamed by your family and neigbors, don't vote Trump!

Surely lawmakers are not that stupid. "Concerned" surely. "Upset"? Of course! But stunned!? Not really.

Had he only had a knife, the events would of been much different.

Still though, quite sad.

[Rush Limbaugh isn't much different, but the thing is people listen to their crap and rhetoric and BELIEVE it to be 100% true. It's freeking scary.]

It is scary. I listen to him and a few others just to see what nutters are thinking and it is like they are purposely trying to fan a real war with the opposite side. No matter what Obama did, it was never good enough. Now with Trump in office, no matter how horrible he is, he can do no wrong.

The fact that they act like they are an actual news source is even scarier. Out of the countless hours lisenting, only once did a more "laid back" host actually make a point and state saying that this was "talk radio" and not to be associated as "real news", only "opinions". But those who listen and hang on every word take it as if being written on stone tablets.

However Trump is making matters much worse and for his and his ilk agendas only. However maybe this will back fire and Qatar will ally themselves even more with Iran which is what they should do.

Everything negative in this article about Saudi is true. If we are never to forget 9/11, then never forget that out of the 19 highjackers, 15 were Saudi and 0 were Iranian.

But again, this was a mess long before Trump came into office.

Why keep the base where people who actually live there don't want it and to top it off, fly such "proven" dangerous aircraft there as well? I am sure Japan has quite a few islands completely uninhabited.

If they have not already done so, put YouTube videos out about the protests, the Osprey and it's dangers, police brutality if any, etc.

This isn't Turkey. He is lucky no one there were legally armed. Also if the police were there what were they doing as people were getting beaten? No tasers used? No batons swung? No shots fired?

People at rallies really need to be more prepared for these things. If the police are not whopping on you, apparently others in the opposite side will. Never start a fight, but be sure to finish it.

I used to respect Turkey. I mean they always had their "bad side", as most countries do. But they are a part of NATO, I think the only Mulism one. But recently with these broad powers the President has now, blocking internet sites in his country, mass arrests, they keep accussing our allied Kurds as their enemy (basically any Kurd) and now this.

If it does not get better maybe Turkey should leave NATO. But I remember when Turkey had shot down that Russian jet fighter and all it's NATO allies did not do or say a thing when Russia threatened them.

That was awkward... Maybe they used the term "vending machines", instead of "capsule toys" by mistake?

Even if we did not use airstrikes, Daesh would have bobytrapped the grounds/buildings. I am all for airstrikes, but only when absolutely necessary. A single sniper is not a reason to me. Too much destruction for one (knowingly) enemy combatant. Who knows how many civilians could be killed as well inside or out.

But if you are a commander you do not want your men killed either. An AT-4 or RPG, even a grenade or two, tossed or shot into a room should clear it. You need to clear just the roof or section/level of a building, not the whole thing. Can not an anti-sniper also kill a sniper?

I went to Japan for two weeks walking almost every, minus using the trains obviously. Almost one whole week in Tokyo itself, and besides one Maid Cafe and a Final Fantasy cafe or two, I really did not see any other of these unique restaurants.

Heck I was assuming sushi shops and even conveyor belt sushi would be a dime a dozen, but I did not see hardly any sushi at all, not shops specializing in it anyway.

And then I was severely disappointed in the vending machines. Yes they were practically everywhere, on almost every street corner practically, but I was expecting to see high tech ones and I did not, minus one that was just a touch screen. What happened to the face recognition, guess/suggest your drink by age, sex, etc.? Or vending machines selling umbrellas?

However this ping pong restaurant sounds fun and some of the prices very reasonable. Perhaps next time...

[Its founding members were inspired by the Fight for $15 movement in the United States, which was set up in 2012 by fast-food workers in New York City to demand higher wages and better working conditions.]

I can assure you not every state has a great or even good minimum wage nor grand working conditions. NY seems to be the best of them by a large margin, as far as being paid anyway. But I know just renting a very small apartment there costs a lot of money as well.

[the average minimum wage in Japan was 823 yen per hour in fiscal 2016]

That is about the same for the US on average, with maybe even the US a dollar less.

[At that level of annual income, workers cannot even afford to go to hospital, she said.]

Even before and after Obama Care people still can not go to the doctor. I need one tooth replaced and it will cost me at least $1,500 just to get it fixed, AFTER insurance. WTF!? Actually that was years ago, I suspect it is probably well over $2,000 by now.

[Even 1500 is not enough to live the big city. This is why young people don't marry and live with their parents. They couldn't survive otherwise.]

They could, they simply choose not to, because it is just easier or at least financially so. That is speaking from an American stand point however. I have only been to Japan once, so I do not know their prices. But if the Japanese are like Americans, it is not impossible.

Good luck to higher wages though.

"What's needed is a counter ideology to replace the terrorist one, something that is universal. People need to be weaned off the language of hatred and see that we're all just the same."

Agreed, but only before they cross that line. I think moderate Islam is just fine. Certainly not wahhabism!

"And barbaric death penalties serve no-one."

It serves the living.

"And it plays right into their hands."

Their hands play all the fields in their favor. They kill their own (Muslims in general) and feel justified. They rape children and feel justified. They own and trade sex slaves and feel justified. They torture and murder and feel justified. I am not really sure what you are expecting. Even those who are hard liners and who agree with Daesh, but have not become Daesh themselves, will still continue to accept what Daesh is doing as ok and more will go to their ranks.

If the US and everyone else decided to leave Daesh alone, even pulling every last boot out of the Middle East, Daesh would still come and kill us all. Even if we all converted to Islam, but did not follow their extreme doctrine to the exact letter, we would still be killed or at the very least be used as slaves.

In knowing that, there really is nothing left to do but kill every single last Daesh and all those that claim allegiance to them and or fund and support them. Someone can not be martyred when there is no one left with the same beliefs.

Now do I believe that is even possible or feasable, to get every last one? No. Cockroaches will always hide and regroup. Nor will the world accept all people of a certain ideology to be eliminated. (I am not talking of Islam in general so there is no confusion.) But we are damned if we do, damned if we dont and if I am going to be damned, it best be for doing.

To go to a different country to do it I would assume that would be inviting much harsher penalties. Or is it that they try to out weigh the chance of being caught in another Asian country which might be quite less, as opposed to the harsher treatment once caught, if caught?
