"Japan turns to U.N. to pressure North Korea on abductees"

I hope those abductees were not abused as sex slaves, forced laborers, human experiments, etc. If they have, they are sick bastards and they owe great apologies to Japanese people. Japanese leaders should go to the shrine and pray for those poor souls, and pray that anyone who committed such heinous crimes should burn in hell.

@Stram5, I think it's Samsung and LG. If you travel outside of Japan, Samsung and LG products are everywhere, sold at higher prices than Sony products.

Even for cars, if you travel outside of Japan, only Toyota outsells Hyundai (which owns Kia). In that sense, Japan is a strange place, very different from the rest of the world. It's very easy to verify; just google for information in English.

Ronald, let's say your mama was a sex slave. You wouldn't be saying that to your mama, would you?

Even if the savagery (Japanese History) is of the past, it's a present matter if the savagery is justified, denied or downplayed. Japanese should just acknowledge the past, and learn to move on.

Japan really needs to print more money to devalue its debt. I think printing money is the best way to collect tax without people objecting to it.

"Lester Tenney ... made peace with his former enemy. Yet as Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe prepares to address Congress this week, in the 70th anniversary year of the war's end, something rankles the U.S."

So did many more until Abe. Abe knows how to bring forth past wounds of victims. He's an amazing bastard with so many of his kinds following him. Acknowledge the past as it happened. Japanese need to know that their savagery a was shameful act, and denying of their savagery/history is a even-more shameful act.

Posted in: Abe offers ritual gift to Yasukuni shrine See in context

Abe, the answer to my question is that Japanese would feel sad. Showing respect to Yasukuni Shrine is a lot worse than celebrating nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The nuking was done to minimize innocent victims from Japanese war criminals. However, celebrating the nuking is still a bad thing to do. Why? Because even war criminals are people too, and there were many innocent Japanese victims.

Abe, have some decency! In the long run, you are just isolating Japan, hurting its own interest.

See if you can figure this out. How would Japanese feel if people celebrate nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Alex80, thanks for the link, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olivetti

Now I know that Italy used to make computers and great typewriters. However, I don't think too many people care about typewriters anymore. Keep up the good work. Japanese phones are the best! Americans are double standards!

"Japan must apologise for WWII until it is forgiven: Novelist Murakami" For Japanese, as long as they don't lie about their savagery/Japanese History, people should be content. Don't expect too much from Japanese.

For example, according to Mizuame, "Japan has been demonstrably peaceful since 15 August 1945." What about frequent demonstrations with hate speeches? I guess Mizuame will consider those as peaceful demonstrations.

That definitely will not be the case. It's just a matter of time before AIIB replaces ADB.

Alex80, look at the countries you are quoting. You are a great nationalist. I never heard that Italy was known for electronic products. Look around.

I guess in Japan, people only buy Japanese or European products. I guess they have some complex or something, which I am not so sure of. Most of Asians feel good about their own identity and their fellow Asians. Because of too many extreme nationalists in Japan, only in Japan, "Samsung removes logo from smartphones in Japan." Buy Samsung S6 Edge this time. Lucky for you if you can get it cheaper than Japanese phones. In the US, most of the people buy I-Phone or Samsung phones, which are the two most expensive phones.

It's not true that "People outside of Japan don't buy Sony, Panasonic and Sharp anymore. They buy Samsung, Apple and LG."

In the US, many still frequently buy Japanese electronic products. Japanese products are much cheaper than Korean products, and Japanese products are passable. Abe is doing a great job with massive money printing (QE) ], lowering Japanese wages. Japanese will know their actual wages when they travel outside of Japan. Japanese can overcome Korean products by cheaper labor (QE), overcoming Korean products in their quality.

Even if the savagery (Japanese History) is of the past, you need to realize that it's a present matter if the savagery is justified, denied or downplayed. There's nothing more important than squaring away the things as it should be.

Blinken will be more sensitive if his mother was a sex slave to Japanese, or his father was a subject to animals, Unit 731.

Many savageries happened by different people due to their ignorance. What distinguishes Japanese is that they don't know how to move on. Just acknowledge the past and move on. It's really getting too old.

Lost in Nagoya: You lived in Nagoya too long. It's okay to buy things from Korea. It's a bit expensive, but if you can afford to, just buy it. Get a grip, and chill out!

In the US, many Koreans buy Japanese electronic products for they're cheap, cheaper than Samsung products.

"Why would Japan demand anything of an institution that it hasn't even joined?"

I think ASSO wants to use that as a reason to join AIIB. He's going to claim, "Now that AIIB is transparent, JPN will join AIIB."

ADB will be just a history soon.

I think many Japanese cannot recognize that what they did was wrong and should atone for their war crimes/Japanese history. Thanks to nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If it wasn't for the nuking, there would have been a lot more innocent victims. Additionally, even less people would have atoned for their war crimes/Japanese history.

slowguy2: "This may surprise some people, but I bet a lot of Koreans are secretly happy to see Japan display this callous, uncaring attitude. They know well enough that Japan has already lost a great deal of international standing and faces some very serious criticisms from people of conscience in other advanced nations as the country that continues to deny its past evil. I'm sure Koreans are happy to see Japan voluntarily continue to be known as the nation with no historical conscience."

Don't forget Chinese and others who see Japan as is. Many are sickened by their ignorance. And at the same time, many are relieved that they are revealing their true identity to the rest of the world.

Leave the history as is. Korean victims are not asking for money. So there's no need to be whitewashing, which will surely aggravate the victims. Learn from Germans, and learn to move on!

tinawatanabe: "SK requested not only the extension of the swap pact but also increase of the amount. Takeshima island is not the reason of this ending."

No, South Korea doesn't care. The "$10 billion currency swap" is a petty amount for SK when compared to the total agreement with other countries by SK. Based on my readings, SK was leaving the swap agreement with Japan, only as a friendly gesture. Yen is worthless; it will be devalued even further. It's not a smart move to buy Yen.

The Japanese government is trying to manipulate Japanese like you, so that you can falsely feel superior and be a good follower. Do some more research; then you will know. Read other sources, not only the ones from Japan.

In the US, Samsung and LG products are generally much more expensive than Japanese products. Japan needs to lower the wages even further, devaluing yen by printing more money. By making their products significantly cheaper than their competitors, their products can be competitive, overcoming quality by cheaper price, using cheaper labor.
