I don't get either side of this argument. If you are afraid of your child being touched, don't send them alone on a plane. If you are that embarrassed and inconvenienced by simply having to change seats, don't get on a plane. Seems there's much more people flying these days than really should be.

Wow. Why is it that just the mere mention of anyone over the age of 50 will cause the commenters on this website to go beserk?

Ms Alexander, suicide is not a Japan-exclusive problem.

When did CHILDREN become a buzzword for people to lose their minds? We're not struggling to populate our world anymore, children are no more valuable than the countless others who are in trouble for whatever reason.

Well, Elbuda, I think zero. That normally only happens to illegal immigrants.

Who says you get to dictate the price of melons? If you think they're overpriced, don't buy them.

That's the problem with fire, buggerlugs. It's easy to tell the people who've never experienced a major one before because they always say what you just said, as if fire gives you the option to save anything. At a certain point, attempting to get your kids out WILL kill you, no questions asked.

I love how a place with 14,000 people is a small rural town. Are you populated enough yet, Japan?

Let's filter through the comments here... sex joke, rant by a rabid anti-tobacco nazi, another sex joke, exasperated repsonse to the anti-tobacco rant by somebody who should know better, joke about catching disease from the spit, sex joke, same anti-tobacco rant just phrased differently and full of different incorrect data and exaggerated experiences, sex joke, ACTUAL COMMENT ABOUT THE STORY, some kind of Austin Powers joke, etc.

Even if they had engaged in some kind of consensual sexual act, the fact of the matter is he still killed her. If you don't know how to perform a dangerous act without killing the other person, then you shouldn't do it.

I wonder what's more universally hated; smokers, or non-smokers who don't stop going on about cancer.

Really? A 21 year old woman is dead, strangled on an overseas trip, and some of you are worried that the man who clearly killed her may have been hit a little bit? I hope they broke his legs with batons.
