I think its a bit harsh labeling every Japanese commuter a retard and am surprised the mods let this post stand.

Every commuter? I think bobbafett is referring to the tiny handful who ruin it everybody else.

Oh yeah, did you see the well rounded news coverage of the Oscars?

Hats off to the filmmakers for Departures as best foreign film, but c'mon, maybe viewers are curious about other winners, instead of having to watch five solid minutes of exclusive coverage of what Japan did at the Kodak Theater?

"harvest up to 935 minke whales and 50 fin whales this season."

Hmmmm...that's an impressive number of "specimens" for research. To think of the amazing breakthroughs in the understanding of whales that's happening in restaurant kitchens (cough!), er I mean laboratories.

Yeah, I'm with Mark in Japan! Let's usher in the age of insulation; comfort! energy efficiency! and...wait for it, Sound proofing!

I fondly remember my first noise compalint in 2005 - Lightly strumming an acoustic five minutes prior to a protesting knock at the front door, oh well.

Ahhh...spending falls. When one's national health insurance skyrockets from $30 to $200 per month, one doesn't get out as much.

Yeah, I'd love a few more storms before the temperature plunges. Gotta love that open shutter photography.

Yeah, its sad that this is the kind of gimmick that's successful in the music industry. Some friends of mine (The Sushi Cabaret Club, from Nagoya) just laid their band to rest after five years of gigging their asses off and producing several great albums. Great songwriting, talented musicians who played from the heart but couldn't make it happen; and...er...well, I guess they wouldn't have looked that good in school uniforms.
