Posted in: United Airlines fiasco symptom of much bigger problem in America See in context

Is incredible that, in one year, I left a United plane excited for the incredible service I got and now I am thiking twice to use it again.

When I went to Vegas in 2014, I got an unexpected promotion to first class in the flight to Los Angeles and this was wonderful for me considering that the trip takes more than 3 hours and I got sick before boarding the plane. And of course I enjoyed the rest of the trip (except for a delay that almost compromised the trip back to Guadalajara). And in the next year I did not doubt to take the flight to Los Angeles through the same company and , this time I got a little dissapointed because my lugagge stayed one more night in USA.

However I had a good image of United all that time and I was expecting to use it again, except for two details: the absurd lugagge fee they input last year in all american companies and the Trump government. And now this..

Posted in: 'Ghost in the Shell' for beginners: Japanese film critic’s impressions of Hollywood film See in context

While the movie lacks of "soul", the execution was wonderful, I think the American anime fans overreacted a lot regarding the white washing, considering that the anime "white wash" all the characters in the moment they decide to give them hair and eyes of different colors than black (the standard Japanese guy), I am not sure what would happen if someone in US decides to do a movie adaptation of Sailor Moon; Japan did it on TV and the result was awkward.

To Yubaru... by the way Charlot was the name of Charlie Chaplin´s character in his movies. Maybe the owner mispelled the name.

Posted in: Director Paul Verhoeven bemoans Hollywood's lack of sex See in context

The double morale in the media is the problem, if Verhoeven tries to do a remake of Showgirls right now he will find in front of him a lot of activists denouncing him as using the women as object, yes the PG-13 is the biggest market, but because it attracts children and adults together, a R-rated film has limitations but is profitable using the correct publicity, just use Deadpool as example...

Well, for KnowBetter, a lot of tourists means a lot of problems, first, the pics are not so good when the place is crowded and that is one thing the tourism agencies will never show you. Second, some people does not respect the rules of the place and for these fistful of people the rest loses. Finally, there are a lot of guys that only take selfies... they not even try to take the beautiful stage in front of them!!!

As a Mexican I can say that we were very dumb to elect Enrique Peña Nieto as our president, but you know, when a donkey gives some hope to ignorant people, they vote for the donkey. Please, American, think about it, I watched Trump and is even worse than Peña Nieto.. is a Donkey, but with the mouth of a serpent and the brain of a gorilla... save the world... do not elect him!!!

The only one who really had a chance this year was Will Smith or the actors from Straight Outta Compton, but being sincere, this year was not so good for afroamerican actors and films, one thing is racism, another is the lack of good afroamerican films. If the next year no latinos are nominated, should have Gael Garcia or Sofia Vergara right to boycott the Oscar event?

Posted in: Pachinko is ‘recreation for morons,’ magazine claims See in context

I think the pachinko players are mutating to boring grandpas and grandmas that only went to spent their extra time and money to a bunch of morons that are putting the pachinko situation even worse. I think in a future Pachinko will have problems to get public, by one side those bored grandpas and grandmas will die and the younger people will not want to spend money on Pachinko but on other kind of entertainment instead, like videogames, at least the sense of pertenence that implies to buy a console, a screen and some games allows the player to think that losing money on games is better than screwing everything on pachinko..

Posted in: Grandparents seen as cash cows in Japan See in context

Japan is having a way to see that old phrase of millionaire grandpas... rich parents and disgraced kids. The way the japanese people are treating their parents shows the sequels of those spoiled kids that only wanted to work to get their stuff (furitas) and not for making a future, now we are seeing the second part of this problem, that, in a future, will be very hard to sustain.

Good for them, hope they can be happy, while the theme of having children is a little hard, while both of them can have them, so there could not be much problem to build a family.

In this case of the homosexual marriage, the hardest point is for the men, they can not have children the natural way, so they can declare they are a marriage to adopt child, so this is where goverment say no-no... but slowly they are winning that right... while the children have the liberty to choose who to love, I think there should not be problem about it...
