@Harry_Gatto If it's such a rehash I'm curious as to what intrigued you to click on this page after reading the rather explicit title.

People complain about how slimy and lazy police are in japan, but that's nothing compared to the thug-like gang that is the US police force. All they want is power over people and if you refuse to give it to them, they go off just like this officer did. Absolutely reprehensible that they still have NOT arrested this blatant murderer. Even if brown literally jumped IN his car and started strangling the officer, even THEN it couldn't explain those bullet wounds... Nothing can... Arrest the trash.

dont you guys think that 2 out of 3 riders being on their death bed is punishment enough? I know if that happened to my friends I would be more affected by the accident itself than any jailtime you'd give me.

The funny thing is, despite ALLLL the guns in america, the amount of times a gun has ever actually successfully been used in self-defense by a civilian is so low that it is considered by anyone with a background in statistics to be "statistically insignificant". "Gun accidents" alone, which isn't much, even kill more than civilians reportedly save in self-defence.

The amount of violent gun crimes on the other hand? Almost too high to keep track of.

ITT: Feminists complaining that being called a "girl" is offensive. You know, there are actual, real female issues out there you could be tackling instead with your time instead of this translation. Last I checked appearing youthful was an ideal in Japanese society anyway.

@minello7, "quick" to impose sanctions? In my opinion it wasn't quick enough. This should have been done way back when their rebel involvement first became clear, BEFORE russia shot down the malaysian airliner. Sure they get to keep their jobs for the moment if you don't impose sanctions, but what is a job worth to anyone if you're bombed dead? Russia must be stopped, at all costs.

The reason they said "some" is because even two healthy 20 year olds can sometimes give birth to someone with defects, not because his age matters with a healthy young woman. You can never eliminated the possibility of defects. That being said yeah if the wife has gotten older too I'd agree it's really not a good idea to go seek supplies from grandpa.

@Frungy/Cleo "Women who are 35 and under have a built-in mechanism in their eggs that repairs damaged DNA introduced by the sperm. But that safety net starts to break down after the age of 35. That's why some of the risks of genetic disorders only matter when both the mum and dad are older.

In otherwords, the age of the father is nearly irrelevant.

In many Countries it is common practice for older siblings to raise their younger siblings, whether due to overworked parents or parental deaths. It's really natural imo, no matter how you look at it.

If people don't see the intrinsic humor of men purposefully stuffing their faces to try to get as fat as possible to wrestle other fat naked men, there isn't really any hope for you. Of course it's comic relief, and of course it isn't racist. If you made fun of someone just for the way they were born (i.e. making fun of fat people in general or stereotypical asian characteristics like squinty eyes) on the other hand, I could see why you would be offended.

i do not support these actions. This user basically took whatever common human decency this criminal barely had left and destroyed it. Now, that criminal will no longer be as merciful on future victims... Think ahead about your actions people... Decide whether to give someone what they deserve, or decide to instead try to put a stop to the cycle of deceit and treachery by calling on the common good in people.

I wish those people could live in a country where problems are REAL so they can see the difference.

Posted in: Do you think the world is more dangerous today than, say, 10 years ago? See in context

eh, a 6:4 ratio of people think the world is more dangerous? How can I put this in simple terms. If a lion is hiding in a room, waiting to attack, is the room less dangerous just because you didn't know it was in there? In my opinion, now that all of these "cats" are out of the bag, the world is a safer place. When the danger is in plain sight, you know where to avoid if you want to live. The danger itself hasn't been added or subtracted.

Posted in: Is smoking pot harmless? See in context

@jpn_guy

There are 2 very important points regarding the cause vs affect of any link/ pattern you may have noticed of highly-motivated people being less likely to be pot smokers.

-1. Someone who becomes depressed/unmotivated from life circumstances is more likely to smoke pot to feel better, so it may "appear" the pot did that to them (as it may seem simultaneous). This is a misleading correlation.

-2. If you take a regular, motivated, happy person and have them smoke pot for a month or two for a study, you may notice a decrease in motivation, but don't mistake that for a brain chemistry problem- Psychologically speaking, if you had to work hard for years to afford that new house and car you've been wanting to access those "reward centers" in the brain you were talking about, vs. simply picking up that weed beside you whenever you want to, it is entirely reasonable and probable that you might "chill out" slightly on ambitions... You may realize you don't really need to go through all that effort to feel happy. Who needs a stretch SUV anyway?

First off I don't see how marijuana is related to this article in any shape or form, unless he is explicitly quoted as saying "I did that worse drug because marijuana isn't legal". He may have liked doing this drug whether or not there were safe alternatives, so I don't know why that discussion is on the table.

But secondly, those of you who are comparing driving under the influence of alchohol to driving under the influence of marijuana have clearly never been high before. Alcohol is countless times worse for impairing judgement... Alcohol is a heaving drug no matter how you look at it.

If you use a vaporizer than yes, it is 100% harmless... People are too thick to realize that though. Smoking it just hurts your body and makes the high worse.
