This makes no sense.  Cosports, the official Olympic ticket seller for the US, Australia, and a big part of Europe has already had 2 rounds of first-come, first-serve sales in addition to the initial application/lottery round.  There are Paralympic tickets available now on Cosports for immediate purchase.

Posted in: Gov't to subsidize mask makers amid supply crunch See in context

Check out the lines of non-Japanese queueing up in the mornings and casing drug stores and shops, collaborating in gangs, when one identifies a shop with masks they text or call their associates who upon receiving the message break from the line they are in and high tail it to wherever has the masks.  They are making a ton selling them on the black market. The percentage of the masks staying in Japan is pretty low.   Best solution would be to print a Rising Sun Flag on the front of the mask.  See how many will resell to China with that on the front !

He predicted 2020 would be a "tipping point" for 8K going mainstream.

Nonsense. 4K isn't yet mainstream Japan.  Only like 6 channels on cable broadcasting in 4K and you have to pay extra for most of them.  Also only a small percentage of homes actually have bandwidth speeds that allow for true 4K streaming.

A new favorite one that needs to stop is wearing a fat backpack backwards for the sole purpose of carving out your own space in order to hold your smartphone on top of the backpack so you can play games or whatever on the phone.  Removal of backpacks and holding them while on the train used to be taught as the good manner practice.

Exactly why NHK has to be crushed.  No small fortune is being confiscated from the populous and paid to these entertainers for them to appear on the show.

Posted in: Tokyo Olympic organizers open 2nd-chance lottery for Japan residents See in context

The whole thing is a sham and a joke. This new lottery is simply a way to entice frustrated applicants into buying tickets for Air Pistol, Handball, and Race Walking. Tickets for Opening Ceremony, Gymnastics, Swimming will absolutely not be available in any material quantities in this secondary lottery. Despite all those statements of fairness in opportunity, if you want tickets for the popular events you will have to buy an all inclusive travel package from the official resellers and pay through the nose.

The whole thing is a sham and a joke.  The biggest "sponsor" of the Tokyo Olympics is the Tokyo taxpayer and they are not getting the tickets.  This new auction is simply a way to entice frustrated applicants into buying tickets for Air Pistol, Handball, and Race Walking.  Tickets for Opening Ceremony, Gymnastics, Swimming will absolutely not be available in this secondary auction.  Despite all those statements of fairness in opportunity, if you want tickets for the popular events you will have to buy an all inclusive travel package from the official resellers.
