Japan doesn’t test asymptomatic cases. But still symptomatic cases are down, which was 30,000 a month ago.

They should have milked the government inactions during the pandemic. Except they focused on issues like income and wealth gaps and climate change. Also not a good move to join hands with communist. I am anti right wing, but we should move to the center and not socialist and far left.

Just guessing, but the vaccine may prevent a lot of those infected from developing systems that would warrant it, which means we might see a rise soon again

I don’t think so. The reason for the increase in cases in most country and Japan is the Delta variant, right before most of the population was vaccinated.

With more than 90% of adult population vaccinated in Japan, and some of the rest have natural immunity from infection, the cases will stay low. Only those who are extremely vulnerable (diabetic, obese) will be in danger. The rest will be affected by it just like common colds or flu.

the current 2,000 yen is too low and does not reflect the true value of the bank.

There's no such thing as "true value". Only what people perceive is the value of the company. It's also just a bank.

Though some speculated that the drop in cases might be due to less testing

It does. But it has been like that ever since, yet the results still went down. Of course, if we also test asymptomatic cases, we will definitely find more but the question rests: why is the symptomatic cases (tested) down?

For those on Rakuten, the bulk of their network piggybacks in Docomo. Their 5G stations are their own only and many less that Docomo. My 5G phone is fine, older iphones/androids / fliptops are affected. Might want to educate yourself Mark. Or just a case of 'Big Telecom' bashing?

For now. Rakuten is building their own network to be independent of olden days company like Docomo.

This is really good. I feel like I am protected even when I walk among many people.

Good thing we don't have ridiculous anti-vaxxers like the US.

If I don’t have my DNA on my wife, she’s not my wife.

The defense should have looked for other DNA on the wife’s fingernails. But given that only prosecutors can do the investigation in Japan, the husband is screwed.

I’m not surprised the judges found him guilty. In Japan, there is no “guilty beyond reasonable doubt”. They impose “guilty unless proven innocent”.

Where are the conspiracy theorist’s, number crunchers, anti government and doom and gloom squad today? Three weeks the number of infections have been going down yet to them it still not good enough.

In every infections, waves will peak once it reaches critical mass, then it will go down ALL THE TIME. How much down is what we should be looking at - not the current "it's going down".

Posted in: Tokyo reports 1,067 coronavirus cases; nationwide tally 7,212 See in context

I understand the deep need for some positive news, however this short term view of the pandemic is what has consistently led to wave after wave of record breaking numbers. The aim should be succesively smaller waves, so perhaps its prudent to wait to pop the champange until the numbers drop below prewave base (if they in fact do).

True. It's always been a race against time. Get the vaccinations done as fast as possible before the next wave comes.
