I didn't realize that it was against the law to call someone stupid.

Although not a fan of Paris Hilton, she did manage to negotiate a lucrative three year global contract with Bliss, just where Shinjo fits into the picture, I have no idea.

Please come and work for my company, of course we always have fun, and it doesn't matter if you come in late or leave early either, of course there are always nice chocolates in the pantry that you can help yourself too. Oops, excuse me for a moment I was going to tell you more but have just been told there's a bailiff at the door who is changing the locks, guess we didn't make the rent this month, just let me grab a few of the chocolates on my way out.

In times of recession skirts normally get shorter, but I'm glad to see Toyota has resisted this and given us a look at two very classy young women.

Undoubtedly his excuse will be that she taunted him for being out of work and he was overcome with stress. At least she survived.

Very intense looking young women, one can't help but envision who they are thinking of as their targets.

Agree that some of the "charities" are bureaucratic nightmares however do think that this young woman has her heart in the right place and it would be nice if a precedent was being set.

On the other hand if you think of that big feather duster around her as a big mixture of chocolate and vanilla cotton candy, I wonder if there would be a lack of volunteers to start licking away.

Even in that hideous dress she looks very good. Note to Yumi Katsura, world famous or not you might need a new pair of glasses.

Posted in: 22-year-old riot police officer shoots himself in toilet at Chofu facility See in context

Story is a bit unclear, it talks of head wounds, is this to imply that he shot himself more than once, or are they talking of entrance and exit wounds?

Regardless, a sad end to a young life.

Good thing the father "consulted" with the police, otherwise something serious could have happened.

Posted in: What is your view on the statute of limitations for murder cases? See in context

I suppose that here in Japan the limitation has been calculated as the maximum amount of time it would take the murderer to let their guilt build sufficiently so they would be compelled to confess.

Cold cases in Japan tend to stay cold.

Posted in: Former porn star Ai Iijima found dead at Tokyo apartment See in context

I actually had the privilege of meeting her once about 12 years ago. It was a very rainy day of torrential proportions and I decided to pick up a few vids on the way home. This was in Itabashi at my small local video store before the chains took over.

I knew the owner slightly and when I entered the store he quickly told me to come with him. He took me to the back of the store where all the "adult" videos were and introduced me to a stunning young woman who was there for the day to promote her latest work.

At first I was a bit dumbfounded and my tongue seemed to be stuck in my throat, but she was very personable and any ice was quickly broken, In the end we talked for close to an hour, no not about porn, she spoke of her dreams, the difficulties of the industry, her childhood, and she also listened to me as well.

I was happy that the rain kept people away as I will never forget that uninterrupted hour of conversation. Yes, we did in the end swap phone numbers, but at the time I was involved with someone else. We never contacted each other after that night.

I did notice her and was quite happy when for a time she became a popular commentator and had moved on from her work of the early days. I never quite understood the reasons for her dropping out of sight a few years ago.

I did and do remember that beautiful person I had a chance to meet if only for a short time those many years ago, because of the rain.

Rest in peace.

This is just so sad. She was a bright shining light that both used and fought the system for so many years. I will grieve for her tonight. I want to say more, but words fail me.

Let's see, pay 490 freetas 800 yen each to line up for an hour, not a bad cost of advertising. Oh and yeah those ten that actually wanted the burgers, hope they got them while they were still warm.

The main problem in Japan is that the pens do not draw well on the down curve, designed only for drawing the graph upwards. As an aside, Japan self sufficient? Best joke I've heard for a month!

Posted in: Last call for Kabukicho red-light district See in context

Ahh, the end of an era, I have so many fond memories of Kabukicho from years past (before I settled down) actually very gaijin friendly once they got to know you and much more laid back and less expensive than areas such as Roppongi. I will miss it, and miss the people there most of whom had very little connection to the yakuza, just paid a small (much smaller than in places like New York) fee each month.

I've known quite a few owners of clubs in the area, and I guess now they will after years of saving up so they could open their own places have no alternative but to try and become OL's and be part of Ishihara's concept of what good women should be.

Yes, the stories I could tell.....
