So has their cowardice. Life is hard, but unless you have some terminal disease that is absolute agony, or unless it is to sacrifice yourself for others, there is no glory, and no justification for suicide. These women were Young, and obviously not very bright -- they wasted the most precious things you can have; life, and time. TIJ

Another that thinks suicide is the cowards way out. What a total lack of understanding of the complexities of suicide and mental health. As for being bright, might say they could have been a damn bit brighter than some. Who knows what issues these young women had faced...Sexual abuse, extreme pressure from parents to perform at school or any myriad of issues. Yeah life is precious but when in dealing with anxiety or depression or other issues, it just doean't seem so. Get down off your high horse, you might fall one day.

I can think of another President that did such a thing......ahem...

Example?

Can your prove that was that was the motivating factor?

Spin or deflect.

No, it was because Trump was tired that Americans were getting ripped off by China and that the Democrats and even the Republicans for years said nothing and allowed middle America to spiral slowly into deeper debt and the erosion of the blue collar working man.

Better to be ripped off by an American, I suppose. Trump is famous for his shady business dealings.

Utter nonsense, please stop reading Mother Jones and the Nation.

How many failed business? I guess he paid in full when they went bankrupt.

It's the same with J-Pop too...... caters to the 'wholesome' image and the otakus believe that they just might have a chance with their idol.........The whole J-pop, K-pop image is too contrived.

2018 folks. Welcome to japan.

1718 more like it in this case. I enjoy living in Japan, but seriously, it's things like this, the abducted children issues and not being able to register the babies name as a foreign father that leaves me scratching my head.

What they do in their free time is their own private business unless they used money from the organization to pay for the services I don't see why they deserved to be publicly shamed for something that is extremely common in Japan.

Disagree.. they are there representing their country... they want to knock around with pros, they can do it in their own time. A lot of young kids look up to sportsman. Yeah, I know they are human, we all make mistakes, but at that level, there is a lot more on the line than just a game.

I think they go hand in hand. The pressure these kids face, mine also, especially from my ex and her mother, leads to depression and anxiety . The inability to live up to expectations, leads to a fear of failure, sort of puts them into a kind of stasis.

well said, mental health support seems non existent here in Japan. There is so much pressure placed on young kids here, to perform academically, conform socially and at school... sorry but this whole senpai, kohai, for me, an institutionalised form of bullying, needs to go as well.

I love living in Japan, has been some of the better experiences of my life. There is a strong sense of community, especially in rural Japan, but if you don’t fit in, you are generally speaking, on your own. A country that hovers around 30,000 suicides a year must know that the system is broken.

That’s great, my kids do the same, but it has no relationship to the article. More to about mental health, social issues, and to my understanding - forms of depression and social anxiety.

So if you work for a bank and have left the bank should you have access code to the safe, if you were married and then divorced should you be able to have access to visit your spouse anytime and should you be allowed to keep the key?

In no way are they comparable. Not a great analogy, Bass.

Guys like Brennan, have invaluable insight into situations regarding national security. Funnily enough, it’s those critical of Trump who losing their clearance. Flynn, Jr, Manafort all lies about previous meeting, and you see that as a good thing.
