You can't tell the difference between Japan's LDP chosen by the Japanese people and CCP in China?

You mean a very select, pampered group of Japanese people that LDP bends over backwards for?

Well what they do is nothing but a joke that is for sure.

Really...Just don't crap your pants when the PLA shows up at your door step.

We all know the drill; consumer spending, especially for durable goods, rises just before the new tax hike, and falls off the cliff after the tax hike. Will it push Japan into recession? Likely, considering how weak the economy is already.

The world needs to ask: what do we want with North Korea? If we want regime change, then we need to devise a plan and go in to force Kim out. After a few decades, it is clear that change would not come from within. The North Koreans are unwilling and/or unable to do it themselves.

The parents feel terrible now, but I'm sure they never expected this outcome, and if they can turn back time, they wouldn't choose to do the same thing.

As for the child, my guess is that he wandered off and got lost. Let's hope he's found alive before he succumbs to the elements.

"during [Tokyo Olympics] one would expect a smaller-than-normal number of Japanese citizens to be travelling abroad."

What is the basis for this assumption? I live within a day's drive of TWO different Olympics and I didn't participate in the events in any way. If anything, MORE Japanese may be going abroad to avoid the madness.

French wine is mostly overrated. While some supposedly wine experts sing its praises, they end up just as likely picking 'new world' wines in blind tests.

I am an American. I visited Hiroshima 3 years ago. While I felt extreme sadness and sympathy for those who were killed and maimed in 1945, I did not feel apologetic.

This year, I will likely be visiting Nagasaki. I don't think I would feel the need to be apologetic. If Truman is still alive today, I don't think he should either.

@Aly

It's lost everything else to the other asian and american markets- smartphones, appliances, TV sets.

I don't know how you arrive at such a conclusion, but just from what I know of, Canon, Sony, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, etc. are doing very well in the photography business. Samsung and LG, on the other hand, not so hot.

In IT and office automation, Canon, Fujitsu, and Toshiba are doing well too.

In LED, Nichia is well loved, definitely competitive with Cree.

In the crowded field of personal audio, Final and Zero Audio are highly praised and well loved as well.

The man grabbed the knife and then the woman took a small hammer out of her bag.

That's one thing I admire about women. They always seem better prepared for contingencies. If it was a man, once the knife is gone, the robbery would've been over.

People of communist China fully embracing capitalism in the west, playing the free market, supply/demand game that the West touts, and people are complaining. You know what, it's the have-nots that are unhappy. Talk to the long time owners of properties in those hot markets and I bet they're grinning ear to ear.

My Honda, bought in the US, gets about 12% BETTER mileage than what Honda reports to the U.S. EPA.
