Posted in: Two elderly people dead after car plows into supermarket See in context

I remember over a decade ago in Australia a young woman turning at an intersection who similarly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake and ploughed through pedestrians crossing the road. If memory serves, two pedestrians died. So this kind of thing is not necessarily age related. Message: Focus on your driving.

How about those small islands Japan just named?....I mean the Chinese would understand a US Base being built there since the islands are unmanned and, up until recently, had no names. But seriously, I think Okinawa is fated to host a US base. It is just placed so nicely.

I am speculating that at 38 years of age, the man was frustrated and wondering how his life came to the point where he was changing his father's diapers. I imagine it all got too much more him and he snapped. Maybe he feels regret now over it. I certainly hope so. If he had a good support system where he could vent, myabe this could have been avoided. RIP old man.

This definetely falls under the heading of "cruel and unusual"....the man is a monster and not fit to be in society. A very callous way to treat a child, understanding the effect it would have on the boy and urging the process to continue. Lock him up for sure.

The Wicked WItch of the North is dead.....let's rejoice! I only hope the future leader is weak and this ridiculous dictatorship can be brushed aside and forgotten as a sad chapter in the history of Korea.

Posted in: S Korean president urges Japan to compensate Korean wartime sex slaves See in context

The atrocities committed are horrible, but I feel in light of the 1965 compensation treaty, there is only one government that owes these poor women (monetary) compensation........South Korea. Having spent the money on other things to develop their country is a choice they made, But the onus is still upon them to provide compensation to the women because they agreed to close all issues under dispute with Japan henceforth. The women need to take up the monetary issue with their own government. Now demanding compensation makes South Korea look money grubbing and paints them as deal breakers. On the other hand, seeking sincere apologies and contriteness from Japan is still within their purvey. Admitting to these atrocities and showing a gesture (non-monetary wise) of genuine contriteness would go a long way to smoothing relations and closing old wounds between the two nations. Sadly, it will never happen. Japan wouldn't allow such an embarrassing public display in front of the international eyes.

Unbelievable!! Poor kid was lucky to survive.....and the father loses his family and freedom in the process. Can a mother and son ever forgive such an action?

Who gives a damn what a terrorist organisation says, except to understand them for the sole purpose of destroying them.
