Bush's book was undoubtedly ghostwritten. I saw a copy and it's not even written in crayon. If he were capable of writing he'd be able to read. If he could read, he might have read the memo that said "Note to president: Al Qaeda terrorists are soon going to hijack planes in the United States." Then he wouldn't have run up the national debt with two wars and destroyed the world's economy.

Thank God there's a responsible adult in charge in America to deal with this plot. The last US president stayed on vacation and didn't bother to read the memo saying the bad guys were going to hijack planes.

"Police have not ruled out the possibility of Imai’s involvement in other similar cases that were reported in the area." Thank God Japan's finest are on the case! He confessed to doing it more than 100 times and they haven't ruled out the possibility "of his involvement." They'll probably take him with tastefully hidden face and handcuffs, to all 100 plus crime scenes.

Less smoking on film is good news. In the last 20 years smoking often indicates a flaw in the character. Charlie Sheen starts smoking (or at least is shown smoking) in Wall Street after the innocent idealistic kid turns bad.

The main reason for later ages of majority in contemporary societies is the realization that longer periods of maturation, training, and education are necessary to provide young people with the mental and emotional tools to function as adults now. If an 18 year old and a 16 year old had sex in 1820 and a pregnancy occurred, in most societies a marriage would follow and the male would presumably have the ability to gain a livelihood that could sustain the three of them. That is not the case now. Okay, so how about a 30 year old male now who can provide for a 16 year old and child? The life purpose of women was once limited to reproduction but most of us, (probably all of us who have daughters) want our children to choose their paths in life from a position of strength and knowledge. If they marry or have partners, we want them to be able to choose their partners from a position of equality. Somebody should hand the test*cles of that 60 year old and all his clients back to them as earrings.

"a family man with the obligatory Japanese wife and mixed-race child." To rail against stereotypes with this kind of misogynous (or is it perhaps misandrynous) certainly racist, nonsense is absurd. It is hard to tell who the author hates more: Japanese women or the men who are supposedly "obliged" to marry them. And woe be to those who dare procreate and whose children dare fall within his gaze. How have my wife and children transgressed against you? And how have I?
