Posted in: Foreigners in Japan becoming target of discrimination due to virus See in context
I'm lucky I don't look like a foreigner in Japan, but my husband can relate to this article all too well, unfortunately. Recently people refuse to sit or stand next to him on the train. If he sits down, the person next to him will pretty much vacate their seats and run (literally) . They also cover their mouth and nose when they see him (they don't make it subtle either...). Some young Japanese have called him out, calling him "corona spreader" on the street while laughing.
I love Japan, but this is becoming absurd... Especially after the "kore ha pen desu..." stupidity.
