that scares me. It's like a country in the third world that doesn't pick up on its mistakes and shifts the blame to others. This is by no means a reaction from a modern democratic country.

I don't think you need such political analysis to understand his popularity abroad. An easy-to-pronounce name, a smiling and personable face, and a jovial personality (or so it seems) can endear you.
I also think that he has managed to at least slow down the decline, that this country is facing its misfortune, that there is no chance of a solution in the future because it will not be able to escape the captivity of its severe cultural traditions.

Never ever!
normal Japanese employer and employee feels guilty when working 4 days. It will stay that way at least until 2100. Maybe then there is a chance to change the mindset and they would think that work and business is not your life, but only maybe.

First of all, it is necessary to understand: The issue of doping is never black and white. For example, there are drugs that are normally forbidden to use but can be taken with the approval of a doctor, or there are drugs that are free to use up to a certain dose. Even how the sample is taken is very important. If the sample is not properly sampled, the doped sample may even be considered invalid.
The decision of the IOC is correct. No one should be declared guilty before the case is thoroughly investigated and decided, and protecting a 15-year-old child is the most important thing in this case.
