I'm not nearly as bad as that but I need help and don't know how to get it.

The Japanese are so good at putting on a fake front in front of people. If you tell people how he treats you and what he does, they don't believe you. If he injures you and you call the police, they don't arrest him. The cousin of my dead Japanese husband said that many Japanese who follow tradition will stop having kids after they have accomplished the goal of having a boy and a girl. He said his mother's marriage was arranged and she still does not know what love means. There are still many young people in Japan who view marriage as the woman being a servant to the man. Once you get married they change, and everything is different. My husband lied and said he had a job but when we moved in together after getting married I found out he did nothing but sit home all day drinking, watching TV, and expecting me to wait on him hand and foot because that was the "job" of the wife. I am a foreigner in Japan, no friends or family, so divorce was not really an option because I had no place to go. When you get treated as a second class citizen and servant for years, then your husband dies and you inherit his savings and you are finally free it is a very good feeling.
