Posted in: Is Chrysler a lost cause? See in context

as every here recognises...chrysler are in worse a shape than the other 2 because they build terrible cars....no amount of government bail out will change that FACT. They should sell off the jeep and dodge brands and allow them to make better use of their brands, instead of being lumbered by poor chrsyler mgt and restrictive unions. The rest of the steaming pile of chrysler should be absorb by GM and the name should die forever...it won't be missed by any car fan out there with any sense.

and yes, there will be huge job losses and I do feel bad for the people involved...but they all had a part in the decline of their auto industry. They were arrogant over productivity and not continuously improving and fooled themselves that the Unions they chose to represent them would be able to deal with the ever changing industrial trends of the industry. These union leaders held so much power that they became blinded to their true task and forgot the symbiotic nature of any company and their employees. Now its all too late and everyone suffers..there will be no winners. Fools

this whole situation just shows how weak and petty the human race is....we have lost sight of what was important to us...everything is short-sighted and we use our words to cover up our despicable actions....everytime I hear another update on the gaza situation, I can't help but imagining both sides and their actions to be that like of 5 yr olds....screaming at each other, throwing their toys at each other, having already forgetten why they started fighting and being totally illogical. This is so sad....

Posted in: Japan likely to drop plan to buy F-22 fighters See in context

I expect that Typhoon will be sold cheaply to japan as the european consortium really needs to sell outside of their own countries who are struggling to fulfill their own quotas. Its a shame I left BAES back in 2006...I could have helped them market over in Japan.

As for all the discussions on Japan building their own jet fighter...sorry but its not going to happen for a long time...if ever...especially in light of the current economic situation. The amount of time and money required to develop a national fighter is only possible when the poloitical situation allows such huge domestic investment to be approved by politicians. Outside of the US where they have justified and used their military might in spreading their global influence, since the end of the cold war, no other single country has enough justification the invest in developing new fighter jet.

....to be honest, the Japanese should really look into the Gripen....a much forgotten multirole fighter.....if the typhoon didn't exist and had the political influence to block/restrain the marketing of the gripen then that would have been one of the most successful fighters ever.

Posted in: Macrobiotics restaurants attracting more attention See in context

DerekTrotter> ru a lorry driver by any chance? hows yr heart and belly doing? lol

Seriously, eating a macrobiotic diet does not mean you pay more. This is a poor stereotype with NO facts behind it....I used to worry about that aspect to changing to a macrobiotic diet when I first talked about it with my wife, but the reality is that your weekly expenditure on foods from the supermarket (no this does not include people who eat macrobiotic outside in restaurants as eating out for any type fo food is expensive) is not much different for me (ok so you have to bulk buy some stuff like brown organic, short grain rice). Its interesting to realise how expensive red meat actually is (and I'm not talking about cheapo pork sausages and mince here as thats not a fair comparison) compared to the amount you can buy of fresh fish (again I buy from local markets 4/5 at a time so its cheaper) and more veggies and other soy based stuff.

People should read the facts and try to adapt it for their needs before mouthing off absolute nonsense...it just makes you look closed minded and petty.

neverknow2> not sure what happens in yr country but in the UK, the large majority of graduates (outside of doctors and other few very specific subjects) never ever work in sectors related to their degrees...people study about the world and themselves in university......personally, I studied manufacturing engineering and now advise the government on multi-million pounds procurement infrastructure deals...absolutely no linkage

Posted in: Macrobiotics restaurants attracting more attention See in context

my wife was really into this about 5 years ago and I went along with it and adapted my diet around it....after initial resistance (my wife is very easily influenced by such things), I read into its principles and have been adapting it to my own needs and background as its not about eating the same type of macrobiotic foods, but what foods your ancestors and their region of the world ate....I just interpreted it as the anti-macdonaldisation view of eating...by that I mean, everyone eating the same cheaply produced food that don't take into account the specific needs of different races (an no, ebi-burger does not count as ethnic)

..overall, if you look past all the marketing and read the principle for yourself and adapt it to your personal needs then its a good way of eating imho.

Is anyone else getting tired of McCain and his broken record-like speeches on "winning" and "don't care what everyone says"? ...its so hollow its actually not funny anymore but pathetic. Having a pop at Obama for delaying a baseball game is just sad....does his campaign team think that baseball fans can turn his election fortunes?

right lets get this straight..1- she gets a poor wage thats for sure. 2 - People who think its all easy and teleprompter don't know jack about TV news reader's job. The level of preparation and concentration during a live show is immense on them. They have to maintain their clear accents, not make a mistake and make sure they time their words so that it matches the programme's requirements. If your image of these TV new readers are people who get dressed, sit at the news table and just read the teleprompt then you belittling someone's profession out of pure ignorance. Trust me, I was married to one before and know what their job entails..to my marriage's detriment.

this is so funny, the final nail in the republican's coffin...although the actual cost of her outfits shouldn't be a big issues in normal circumstances but because of her often delivered "hockey mum" (hey I'm a normal working class mum like all you voters) tag means that this story just throws her image into orbit....McCain must be seriously regretting her choice...he would most likely have been much closer to Obama had they not picked a person who doesn't even know the role of a vice president.

you have to wonder about these "stewards" and their lack of consistency or fairness this year...they apply the rules when they want to....its like they are part of a betting ring or something! Massa should be demoted to his third and ferrari docked all points from the Chinese race in terms of the constructor's league.

I probably will not bother watching F1 again for awhile...this season has been a joke...any racing excitement has always been trampled upon by the stewards.

Posted in: Hamilton vows to stick with aggressive approach See in context

well Hamilton proved us(including me) all wrong with a well drive win...and it was the other ferraris that showed little fairness by letting the slower massa through to 2nd....its this kind of behaviour that the FIA and the useless stewards should punish as it makes a mockery of who is the fastest driver.

onTherecord> yes they are directing their hatred at Hamilton but have no logical rationale for it...or none that is specific to him.

I wrote a post previosuly, stating my frustration at Hamilton's boom or bust driving style, which I fear will lose him the title again...so its not like I am a huge fan, but these people are just spouting hatred of him as a person and has little to do with his driving...this article does not talk about Hamilton's driving as dangerous to others..they say (rightly imo) that it might casue him to lose the title).

as for "Safety first"....do you truly believe that any of the F1 drivers actually do this? who are you kidding? At this level of driving, the line between glory and failure is too close to be able to think first about safety. No one can win anything with that attitude.

never knew this was a forum for BNP members....

us and them, right and wrong, black and white......such arrogance is worse than what hamilton is doing imo.

why has none of you people complained about other british drivers who are avoiding tax like hamilton? why do you only complain at the brit who is doing well? Do you hate Button or David Coulthard also?

as for dangerous driving...do you think the FIA would let him continue driving if it really was going to cause a death on the track? Don't believe the mind games being played by Hamiton's rivals...don't be so naive.

I suppose neither of you read my "NEARLY EVERY F1 DRIVER LIVES IN MONACO!" statement? keep closing your mind to the facts and spout yr prejudiced nonsense (so you two must also dislike the other drivers for tax evasion?)....I suppose you two are probably not obama fans either I guess...

Posted in: Hamilton vows to stick with aggressive approach See in context

if you believe the pre-planned "barbed" comments from his rivals (who are no less dangerous if they were as close as Hamilton to the title) then you are definitely the type of person that holds this nation back and probably reads the sun....btw as you might not realise (it seems the case unfortunately) that nearly all F1 drivers "bugger off abroad" (you mean Monaco) after they become even abit successful.....targeting Hamilton alone for such behaviour is just plain ignorance/prejudice. btw none of what you say about him as a person has anything to do with his driving being "dangerous".

If senna was still alive then he would approve of Hamilton....

true, hes trying to be a winner....what a terrible trait eh?
