Sounds great. So merchants are doing good for tourism and economy.

We now need to ask craftsmen and peasants what they think of this idea.

Personally I live in the world of where monkeys lives, sometime forget what # means and wouldn't mind waiting for something good.

Kyoto being artistic city, I want to see more creativity going on on the theme of Empty. Rather than worrying about number of places you visits, try spending more time. Photos and selfies are still allowed but try to press the shutter less. Look around and for example instead of taking 15 pictures in an hour, try to aim for 12 in 2 hrs.

knock knock ton ton

Surely mental care staffs were sent to the quarantine to make sure of passenger's well being. If doubles were allowed couples be able to kiss at night? Was contraceptive provided?

May be I want to know too much but keeping so many passenger sane while being broadcasted from inside and outside will really do my head in.

This is madness

Anyone knows French, German? Any European language?

子の親権問題 or Child custody issues

Japan recognise it as a problem. Access you local Embassy web site.

You might be able to find the link in Japanese quite easily but not in English (UK).

What's going on here people?

Is there a law for web site to keep the same content when the site has different language options available?

Foundation of this law needs to be looked, decide if it needs update and call for referendum, if such a thing exisit in Japan.

The horror of your child taken away and being cut off must be true to both parents. The child has no choice but humanity should speak above law to care for our little ones and their future.

Isn't custody, joint custody and being non-custodial parent....mean.... just an another law that need to be obayed?

Whatever the reason for divorce, child has the right to be loved by both parents.

It is evil if the law restrict the right to children.

The question lies, is fart pandemic?

No disrespect but wonder.

Coming back home from Brighton today by train, I cleaned my hands to my wrists with soap, washed my face then rinsed my mouth with water for a good measure.

I’d better start checking temperature of my kids just in case and write down and records it if my wife agrees.

health minister Katsunobu Kato said at a press conference that people with colds or influenza tend to see their health recover after three to four days on average

recover after when? If under prescribed medication or incubation or when start to show influenza symptoms?

i personally trust measures taken by Japan, also when it comes to numbers I hope to think it’s more accurate.

The centers will then recommend medical institutions they should visit. The period is shorter at two days

does it mean testing can be done after 2 days of signs shown? Like after having 4 days of higher temperature?

3000 test kits a day, whatever equipment and medical qualification is needed to carry out this test (which I hope is the newest best available), I hope there will be quickest international effort to send it, in case it is running out, like very very quick when we need it .

What a good idea. I'd better make a print out so my kids would know exactly what to do when they need a mask. I would ask them to question if it will be effective for protections but it will give them something to do.

@Stewart

What is a good drug and what is a bad drug? Please elucidate.

Without legal consequences

Bad drugs, one that does not work. contaminated. when used when you do not want it or need it. sold or given without any information. no follow up to is made by prescriber or persons who controls it when the effect is negative or unexpected. greed for profit when there is no plans other than to profit. I can think of many more

Good drugs, one that works and makes you feel good or better or blocks pains when necessary, controlled.

Placebo, human's way to respond there is something else than what we understand.

If Noriyuki was living in the UK he will be paid royalty from airplay of his music by PRS. We do need to ask for PRS to stop paying to convicted artists and if the music is likely to promote crime, especially if such offensive material are targeted to teenagers.

Parents should sit their kids in front of tv and give this case as example to make sure bad drugs should not be used.

By all accounts the amount of "kakuseizai" being seized by japanese police and customs has increased dramatically in recent years yet there is no serious investigative journalism about where it comes from, who makes it and who profits from it. Is that because it's made in North Korea and imported into Japan by the yakuza?

Probably forgot to take it out of his pockets when coming back from abroad

France does not experience powerful earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, isn't on the Pacific Ring of Fire.

and bad history, so nuclear is out of question in Japan.

We don't want Sellafield happening anywhere if we are talking in terms from the UK.

How much shift to Renewable energy source are we aiming for in Japan and why is it still so much coal?

Reuters headine of 4 month back: "Some $71 billion of Japanese coal assets at risk from cheaper renewables"

Better coal than nuke plants any day.

Yes. Did you know over 70% of electicity used in France is nuclear?

So coal is better for now?, until men in white coats come up with something new?

Mr Hirata profile: Last few years, she leads coal project team to fight against domestic coal expansion and international coal finance.

Sure we need to question but I understand going nuclear is out of question in Japan. Is coal the best current alternative with technolowgy available to feed electricity for the planned period of time? International coal finance must affect government decesions in this economy driven society immensely. Any news to impact views on future of our environment should be closely read by all.

Japan Today, please decide sooner than later to catagorise Environment as one of top topics along with National, Crime, Entertainment etc as it is already one by many international news sites.

Posted in: 55% of visitors to Japan given no coronavirus info at hotels: survey See in context

Hotels are responsible for well being of clients.

What information to give out will be down to their management by looking at government advice with decisions by associations, head office, the boss and so forth. They might consult for legal advice, what can and cannot be asked to the clients and what to do for emergencies.

Not a big deal really and we don't want it to happen or panic too much.

Cruise ships sure have their own rules but emergency plans sometimes get messed up.... due to unexpected influence like a port refusing entry, luck of supplies or a new virus.

Visitors are recommended to check news and access their embassy website (foreign office advice) if abroad.

You feel ill? Make sure you are insured and contact insurance for their advise. Other than your health it might become very costly.

What else can we do? Wash hands, stuff tissues up nose and speak to the next person using mobile phone.

Naturally one will try to gain information from their usual news channels, social media and.... looking and talking to the person next to you.

Posted in: Japan is an anomaly among developed economies. The era of coal is ending, but for Japan, it’s proving very difficult to give up an energy source that it has relied on for so long. See in context

Nuclear?

A taboo energy source to mention given history and geological activity that goes on. Over 70% of electricity is generated nuclear in France for example by searching Nuclear countries ranked by % nuclear electricity.

One might need to think deeper how economy influence decisions leaders make (yes silly, obvious, and obvious) when it comes to the energy source of a country.

Leaders must unite to come with compromise and invest in advancement of technowlogy for better energy source for each location and the scale it requires.

As HS2 (High Speed 2 is a partly planned high speed railway) is topical in the UK, I wounder if any Secret rail transportation is being planned.

How good are we with laying pipes and digging grounds? Like the pipeline network for oil, could we create spaghetti of pipes to transport vehicles inside the tube ?

Is it a bird? Is it an aeroplane? Noooou, in future I plan to fly Alice with MagniX engine equipped too, London to Berlin about 20 people.

Smaller aircraft carrying less weight, shorter distance could be an answer (in more nearer future) than bigger aircraft. Are they designed to carry people or cargo?...

It will mess up my plan (travel industry) with smaller aircraft flying about all over the places.... Now how can I plan a leisurely itinerary when I need to persuade city planners to dig more airstrips ?

It's called Alice and models are given names, usually known by numbers like Airbus' A380, or Boeing's 737 MAX (code-named Maveric looks superb)

Posted in: Two 16-year-old boys arrested for marijuana possession See in context

This topic is important. Thank you editor for posting it headline.

I can see more of such cases happening in future perhaps not just as a headline but as life actual fact.

As a law abiding citizen of Japan, I am quite concerned.

With Internet and information easily available ( I do not know if firewall blocks MJ related pop videos on Youtube) young people with curiosity will look up. They might take a flight abroad to experiment. Is recreational use now legal in SF? Remember kids, it is forbidden to do illegal activity as Japanese on any foreign ground.

There are many other drugs to be talked about for example alcohol (seriously?), prescription drugs and how they can be economically over valued but we are talking about 16-year-old boys arrested for marijuana possession, and their future.

A lot will need to be talked about on this issue. What if hikikomori for example can be bettered by cannabis medication? Would it make our society any better? Silicon Valley talk about microdosing to improve performance. Could depression be cured from illness by use of psychedelics like lsd and mushrooms? All sorts of clever people are now doing the research above law.

This might be what we read on High Times but seriously.....

What if hikikomori starts having fun? May be our population problem will sort its-self out or otherwise leave Japan for another country.
