There was another civic group with even more people right next to this Anti-Kishida/Japan group in the AP's photo, which were showing plates saying " We enthusiastically welcome Japanese PM Kishida"

Why AP didn't pick that group equally ......lol

Illegal colonization? No. It was the most legitimate annexation in the world history. Hope they could stop hiding it and spare time more on the 1000 years-history of the peninsula around Goryeo and Joseon Dynasty under CHINESE emperors unless they believe those their Chinese eras were somehow the results of legal colonization by Chinese.

Humiliating Diplomacy is trendy term Right? Brainwashed to the marrow of their bones. Can't help it in the society which kills anything against their fake narratives in fantasy. It is said Korean text books focus mostly on modern history for entrance exams in the highly competitive academic-background society.

What about Yoon Mi Hyang? She was CLEARED of all wrong doing by the court except for doing dog rescues with the civic group's money(Around $20,000 spent on rescued dogs on vets) as her side job, which wasn't in the registered scope of the comfort women civic group.

CLEARED? More like a break before appeal court, YES? Besides, you have no idea the worst crime she has been making. Let her testify at Japanese courts if any possible.

Don't you find it odd that the Japan side has named the island Takeshima, even though there is no bamboo growing there?- but of course you don't, because you are a "Japan expert."

Not at all and you can go to the same web-site SJ linked to find out why it is being called Takeshima, which she has been always missing.

South Korea knows that as the ICJ is the judicial organ for the UN that it is partial to the Japan / US side, which is why Japan has been eager for the case to go there.

Laughable. Telltale flunky diplomacy is Korean talent and it's been proven by the history around the end days of Joseon dynasty. They go straight to UN rather than facing Japanese experts, and deceive ignorant UN reps/officers. Look at so-called UN stupid special reports which have not been revised YET even now.

Japan, which co-chairs this year's ASEAN+3 meeting with Indonesia, hopes to discuss a network of currency swap lines called the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation (CMIM).

Specifically, Tokyo is keen to propose a facility that enhances the use of existing currency swap lines and allows members to tap funds in emergencies, said three sources with direct knowledge of the matter.

Wao, what a tolerant approach if you know what SK finance leader(s) stated to Japanese ones, face to face, when the maturities of JPY/KWN currency swaps had came up...

I admire those minor brave Korean academics (including some Korean Youtubers who kept their efforts to disclose Korean gigantic pile of lies) . Their insistence finally seem having been reached to his ears . IF things could ever possibly been turn around in terms of the relation between these two neighbor countries for GOOD, Contribution should be ascribed to their own self-purification efforts by these minors WHO KNOW THE TRUTHS. Japan had better note, it is not Japan-side, but is a tiny part of themselves, which, at this moment, slightly changing the direction of wind. It has been not logic or historical truths that matters for those anti-Japan, NK puppets-driven force ( like far-left media, disgusting NGOs like Chong Dae Hyup, heavily brainwashed anti-Japan academics) in South Korea, who never listen to even one word of Japan's claims other than banging on the table and yelling.

"only after Germany had atoned sincerely over a long period of time. Has Japan done the same?"

They absolutely have NOT, but they most certainly should, and not just kneel, but get on the ground, kiss the dirt, and BEG for forgiveness.

That is what the spitter is expected to do in front of Japanese people

The fundamental cause against normal relation between these two neighbor countries is the fact they don't mind making this kind of Korean cultural and historical plastic surgery. The Good example is this ethnic Korean poster pretending as completely the 3rd party citizen making his opinions FOR YEARS, ignoring how far and deep the fact that those Korean narratives are actually consisted of the gigantic pile of LIES. Nothing much to chose to describe , but ... Korean CULT.

You and your ilk are the ones who MUST not just kneel, but get on the ground, kiss the dirt, and BEG for forgiveness for fooling the entire world , especially to Japan.

kurisupisuToday  04:18 pm JST

multiple allegations of trainee harassment and abuse.

So, why aren’t the authorities involved in multiple allegations of law breaking?

Aren’t crimes being committed here?

My advice to foreigners coming to Japan is not to!

There won’t be any justice nor recompense for harassment and abuse meted out to you

I don't know what would make you feel comfortable by keeping posting like this. My advise is not to simplify your message by just one sentence, like " foreigners should not come here" . Every individuals have each different conditions when coming to Japan. Even if you specifically meant those under this notorious Japan's trainees program , there are those who actually are saying and appreciating THE TIME THEY SPENT or THE DAYS they are now spending in JAPAN, which merely are not being picked up by media.

I bet Japan is not the most ideal country to live your life. Not a few posters here always refer to the place like Canada, I personally lived in Canada for quite short while which was enough for me to decide this is not the place for me. Do you know why? Discrimination DOES EXIST over there.

Hey, every individuals have different conditions to pursue for their own lives. My advise for those who suggest " NOT TO COME HERE" is simply nothing but " SHUT UP and LEAVE"

According to your ilk. there seems so many other choices, BETTER CHOICES, on this planet EARTH, I wish to know which ones they are.. by the way.. regardless it is technically or legally feasible.

Imperial Japan's relations with Korea were with one political Korean faction.

Education in South Korea only refers to Iljinhoe(一進会)as just one pro-Japan political party created by Imperial Japan for the purpose of it's political and actual invasion. Dead wrong. It was the biggest political association in the history of Korea, of so many reformists and revolutionists as called former Gaehwapa-s(開化派) , or as represented by Independence Club (独立教会)trying to turn such corrupt and obsolete dynasty around for civilized and modernized Korea, later joined by successors of Donghak Party(東学党)which was broadly supported by majority lower classes under Korean slave system. It was main driving force of Korean version_ bourgeois revolution

There were no general elections in Korea in 1905 so you're mentioning a democratic majority is a farce.

How could there be? My sarcasm seems having gone over your head. 1905 Treaty was decided at the Imperial conference of Korean Empire by majority decision where 5 ministers gave consents over 3 ministers opposed to it, then approved by the King Gojong. Pretty democratic process for the KINGDOM wasn't it?

The Joseon Dynasty did not have the ruing right to sign the treaty. Just reading up on it now on Wiki doesn't make you erudite on the topic.

So I am asking WHO HAD THAT RIGHT? By the way, it was not The Joseon Dynasty any longer, but the Empire of Korea (Imperial Korea)

I never said that all were coerced at gunpoint by Japanese soldiers. You did.

So you agree the majority decision reached in 1905 by then-government in front of the King legitimate?

“But, at that time, we chose it by ourselves. It is not Japan invaded our land. Our ancestors chose it. If we chose Qing Dynasty that soon perished, we would have had more chaos on the peninsula. If we chose Russia that soon got overturned, we would have had the entire peninsula turned to a communist country. It might not be the best but if we were to chose, I valued choosing Japan as second best.”

President of Korea Chunghee Park

“I was born in a family of a very poor farmer and so I could never dreamed of going to school. It was a Japanese official who persuaded my parents to send me to primary school. And it was a Japanese teacher who recommended me to the Japanese Army War College. The reason I am here today is because of the compulsory education system they introduced, and because of the clean and honest Japanese people”

All those treaties leading up to the annexation of Korea by Japan are officially recognized as 'unfair treaties' under gunboat diplomacy.

Yeah , those 5 BIG TRAITORS won democratic majority decision in 1905 treaty over three who opposed to it.

Yet They were all threatened at gunpoints by Japanese soldiers RIGHT? ....

Imperial Japan's relations with Korea were with one political Korean faction.

一進会is not just one political fraction. Study a bit more about it.

And while some Korean men did serve in the Japanese military, not all did so voluntarily. Coercion and extreme poverty clearly played a role.

Yeah. Coercion and extreme poverty made them prepare application forms to become JIA soldiers written with their own blood (血書)RIGHT? To surv)ve higher than 50 times competition ratio?

Those were Chinese and Mongol invasions not Korean. The Jomon period and people were hunter gatherers from 14,000 to 300 BCE and they are genetically the Ainu people of today. It wasn't even Japan.

Wao. How far ancient times you wish to time warp to ? What was even Korea then? What makes you convince whatever was Korea? I would rather propose you to read recent academic findings that Southern part of the peninsula WAS ACTUALLY JAPAN if I am to use what I think it could be they way your brain circuit is run. No wonder you have problems with China about your own fantasy historical world about Norther part of your peninsula.

They are certainly losing momentum very fast. I can't ever remember the leader doing much to attract attention, it took me a moment to remember his name.

I might be wrong , but personally speaking, hope It’s not only me feeling disgusted watching news about an elected law maker living in Dubai who kept rejecting showing up AS A REPRESENTATIVE of democratic sovereign nation at House of Parliament;, or the fact that THE PARTY he belonged to actually have seats in the diet NOW. This is JOKE and we need a serious bipolar opposition

Too much of playing around with jokes if you ever watch political opinion broadcast by NHK midnight.

Those who have stupidly labeled me ( although those posts were all deleted quickly) as Pro-LDP, as being paid by LDP PR team never have an idea.

Where you have scarce choice, voting for "stability" out of mobs , or not voting is unfortunately one of justified behaviors, me thinks

How about when politicians serve vested interests instead of the general public interest, e.g. when they're getting strong support from tobacco farmers and help stifle legislation to discourage smoking?

Obviously, it is not good picture, yet, that would be a sort of cost of democracy as long as tobacco or pachinko industry legally exist. After all, politicians under democracy represent vested interests which include general interest in broad sense.

I guess CDPJ is already out of style and is doomed. It would break further apart like SDP( former SPJ) inevitably did. We need one purely policy_based bipolar opposition party if wants to stop LDP.

Nothing wrong with pursuing their own vested interests even under national election under what you folks are incessantly calling democracy, YES?

I have a suggestion to make JT comment sections worth reading and more fruitful. Which parties Japanese sheeple should vote for, and why? Better not skip that part.

You folks keep insulting Japanese voters but never presented specific reasons or evidence to push Non-LDP parties , almost like Childish tantrum keep asking FOR A CHANGE!.

Nail just ONE THING into your brains very hard. Unlike most of you, most of all Japanese populace do not own another passport to move. And ordinary citizen just cannot buy other citizenships by money.

JUST NEED A CHANGE? for you enjoying having choice(s)?

Tell THAT , to people living in all other countries who don't.

IN SHORT, Dump other passports and become Japanese and start talking.
