Didn't Canada just make a similar thing happen? They now offer euthanasia to the poor.
Honestly, the world is inching towards a future where we'd have suicide booths on the street. There is even something called 'Sarco pod' in Switzerland, already.

Posted in: Woman storms Cannes red carpet to protest Ukraine rapes See in context
Sexual assaults and rapes are probably happening in Ukraine, especially at places where fighting happens.
Some military people, on all sides, and especially mercenaries, are absolute animals that couldn't care less about women's rights while in an active war zone. It's unlikely that they'll be prosecuted for such acts, even if there is some evidence for it.
Remember, Zelensky even released convicted criminals for the purpose of fighting. So, right now, Ukraine has no intention of reducing it's fighting force, even if it commits or has committed crimes.
I think, the Russian side has much more interest in preventing this from happening, so probably the majority of these crimes are done by Ukrainian, or foreign, far-right fighters and just plain criminals.

We feel strongly that anything and everything Russian must be cancelled
and
no such thing as "good Russians"
This is basically, hate speech.
And it fits perfectly into the Kremlin's narrative that the west will be happy to destroy Russia and it's people. Such statements, hurt ordinary Russians, but mostly they hurt anyone who opposes the government.
If an ordinary person has to believe and pick a side, which side would they pick, the one who hates their guts or the one who says they will protect them no matter what. When it comes to that, the answer is obvious.

Sure.. a "donation". Definitely nothing to do with the plan to release radioactive water into the ocean.
Japan acts so worried about radioactive contamination on Ukraine, that it even sends additional money, separate from it's membership fee, to IAEA, while it happily decides to dump it's own radioactive stuff into the ocean.

I guess no matter what the job was it was always stated like 180 000 - 250 000 cmon who can survive on that in Japan.
It is survivable, although it would be just that - surviving.. one step away from being broke on the street.

@tooheysnew
And Russia is standing up to the west (US/EU/NATO).
In their eyes, and not just theirs, US/EU/NATO are the world's bullies. UK even left EU because it was seeing it as an economic and political bully. EU member states are bullied for years until they're accepted as members, and then they end up being told what to do by unelected EU bureaucrats.
US/NATO military is almost everywhere on the planet, issuing threats and warnings to whoever dares pursuing independent security. The west funds rebels and convenient politicians, make coups and strike down governments all the time, in order to ensure their grip on global political power.
They have no hesitation in twisting the arms of weaker countries to their will.

That'll pretty much spell doom for the democratic world. Everyone who voices an opinion that contradicts the officials will be branded an enemy spy, enemy influencer or something along the lines. We'll see persecution and censorship at unprecedented level and all that in the context of maybe starting the deadliest conflict in human history.

That's true, they've taken measures to prevent a weak ruble. And as a result, it's a far cry from "ruble is worth less than a penny".
The sanctions naturally cause damage to the Russian economy, as well as European economy, and the world economy. It's questionable who suffers the most. Probably some 3rd world country, who no one pays attention to.
We'll see which economy is more resilient in the end, but Russia had a lot of time to prepare and all resources it needs, so I think they have fairly good chance at winning on that end.

Do you believe it's impossible for a NATO country to stage the same kind of thing? Can you rule out that someday we wouldn't be hearing an unverified claim that Russia has attacked a Baltic state, followed by a grand speech from some big guy about how NATO has to go and defend that state, neutralize future threats to it, maybe liberate some poor suffering people that don't want to be part of Russia along the way?
Similar things have happened before, done by NATO countries.
