Posted in: Many Japan Today readers hate AKB48 and insult them every chance they get. Yet the megapopular all-girl group has tens of millions of fans in Japan and Southeast Asia. Why so much hate for the group? See in context

LOL that's why they're joining AKB48. Girl who are really pretty + get real talent/skill won't be need to be the part of this group to become popular. They know how hard the life of an idol. They can easily join agency who will promoting them in various entertainment field.. Ex. Emi Takei & ayame gouriki.

There were many reports that weren't delivered to the citizens. Instead, they aired irrelevant foreign dramas, and on the morning news, they reported biased information.

Posted in: Why does the existence of AKB48 bother so many readers of Japan Today (judging from the comments on the discussion board)? See in context

That's why Japan have term of idol group to differentiate this kind of group with the purpose to be all around entertainer from gravure idol, variety idol, actress, singer, model. I think it's great AKB48 selling "process" instead of the rest of idol group who sell finished/polished talent. Kinda like reality show + cinderella story (as another user stated)

You can watch CNN's interview of Yasushi Akimoto, Producer of 48family. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uThd4Hru61o
