Surprisingly he admitted to the allegation as usually they use the "I was drunk and don't remember " card.

@3RENSHO you are so right, hardly anyone used the overhead shelf they almost always sit their stuffed bags on their laps with arms folded over/across while sitting...I've been HARRUMPHED on many an occasion for attempting to squeze my thin frame beside someone who thinks its their right to stretch their elbows and ass out into the free seat next to them. I find a few coughs or fake sneezes usually does the trick to free up the space you are entitled to

Horrible and sad news for residents of Matsudo, the neighbourhood is particularily safe for women & children and friendly with low random crimes. Waiting for news of updates as to what may have transpired beforehand to cause this unbelievable incident

Lame.......I'm glad to be vacationing back home in North America this year where the attitude is soooo much more lax...since Friday we've been bouncing between countless Halloween celebrations/events in my city .

News articles like this almost convince me to want to up and leave Japan because its pretty much expected and you know they want to control how much fun one can have and obv. a big power-flex for the authorities

Posted in: Nagoya ordinance prohibits walking on escalators See in context

this would not be possible in Tokyo or even Chiba especially during rush hour, although it's not indicated on all escalators most know that the right side going up is for walking ...heck I've witnessed more than a few angry salarymen bark out at someone standing on the right side when coming home

Vile and disgusting yes, but did ya know that the legal age of consent in Japan is 13??!!

And yes its punishable if the other is over 5 years older but they really need to consider

revising the laws concerning consent & sexual abuse

Posted in: Body in Chiba river confirmed as that of missing 7-year-old girl See in context

I live in the area where she probably entered the water and the day she went missing I was taking the Musashino line over the Edo River and noticed how flooded & turbulent it was due to the recently passed typhoons rain...there are many soccer pitches in that area and the water level had risen so much that they were under water, so I'm wondering why a 7 yr old would have no fear of taking their shoes & socks off to wade in & play in an "obvious to even a child" dangerous area...can imagine how terribly scary the last moments of her life must have been & I pray it was accident and not deliberate

Posted in: Truck driver arrested over fatal hit-and-run See in context

@ rainyday & @jerseydevil theres no doubt that truckers here are the most dangerour motor vehicle operators as I commute by bicycle in and out of tokyo daily using the shoulder of route 6, but its not until I'm back in the burbs and on the side streets where you encounter kids of all ages either blocking any throughway in their typical "wall" formation whether on foot or bicycle, almost always eyes glued to smartphones.

Knock on wood, never been more than squeezed out of a lane or cut off by a trucker in 20 years but have had dozens of wipeouts from panicking last second reacting kids.

Posted in: Letters from Japan: 'Can I sue my husband's mistress for psychological stress?' See in context

perhaps instead of the wife it should be the man suing for psychological stress due to lack of fun in the bedroom?!

I know a few Japanese men either married or in serious relationships who have secret/aka pinky finger "friends" and from what they all say it seems commonly accepted in Japanese male culture to have a mistress or extra-marital relationship as long as you don't bring any of it home or let it interfere with family....just keep bringing home the bacon and handing it over to the wife!

Upon hearing this the first few times from them I asked why they would risk jeopardizing their relationships and they all claimed their mate wasn't satisfying them sexually, some holding out for years due to excuses such as tiredness, age, stress, or a flat-out non-interest in it

One would think with the name "Cinnamoroll" the dessert would be cinnamon based or at least have a pinch in it
