I agree with smithinjapan 's last sentence..

so i feel that USS Arizona and the Titanic should be treated in similar ways.. if no one enters the memorial then why should the Titanic be seen different? even if they weren't attacked many people still died there. and the opposite, if people are allowed into Titanic then why not USS Arizona?

I think its disrespectful.. but i also think it could be interesting research, but i dont think they should be seen differently..

obviously because its practically just sugar,, it also doesnt have much fiber so you could connect it with colon cancer too. definitely brown rice, whole grains are the best. but it doesnt mean you have to stop eating white rice.. just dont eat it so often everyday

blame extremism and terrorists not people of a specific religion.

well honestly i think the most popular films are usually really not the best. Hangover seriously?

“I think there is a disconnect, but then I think there’s supposed to be a disconnect. It’s not about what are the most popular films. It’s the films deemed by the voting body to be the best pictures of the year,” said Hollywood.com analyst Paul Dergarabedian. “Often times, what the academy thinks is a great movie isn’t a movie a general audience wants to see.”

exactly, what happened to the art of film making?

well have to say hollywood doesn't make the best movies anymore. its really difficult to get to a real theater which plays a variety if you don't live in a big city.

Personally enjoyed Hugo very much, and found it as a great introduction into the true art of film. I haven't seen The Artist yet, also hoping to see The Tree of Life soon.

no but you can not identify people by just their religion. that is a huge over-generalization. extremism is the real problem.

its a difficult decision. either way there's problems. if they don't agree japan's companies will be unlikely to be able to compete if they do, then farmers etc will be losing their jobs.

i agree with pawatan part of why there is such a high unemployment rate in the US right now is because companies can hire cheap labor and move overseas.

If they could make it like and enormous gimbal where you sit in the very center i think itd be better. but as someone said you most likely will get caught in debris.. in general it would float but with all those huge objects being carried by the waves..youll certainly get suck even if it did resist impact (and you didnt die inside )..maybe it should have some kind of cushioned walls... if you were pushed under and objects moved over you thats it. i mean even if you didnt drown you'd be stuck for a long time. i think it should have a gps tracker as well so that if there really was a disaster rescue can go straight to the capsules, well... if they were actually used anyway. and def should have radio as well. it would be really great if you could get a source for air while inside but not from the outside. plants? and if it were to make all these adjustments i think itd have to be much much larger.

well anyway this seems so..manga-like...

im a bit worried about the people who are buying it like this.. i think as it is it's just going to cause a slow painful and terrifying death...

but honestly im glad theyre trying to think of things for the future.

i think rather than saying "town of death," he should have just said that due to the damage and amount of radiation we don't know if its even possible for you to go back there. it is regrettable because it was at no fault of the citizens, however for their own safety we cannot allow people to go back. and also i think the government should definitely be buying safe land and building homes to provide for these people. and of course that the plant be decommissioned. and they need to help the farmers as well. i dont agree with letting the products be sold if its dangerous, so they need to give them new land to start over, if not provide for a new way of living.

I'm wishing for an angry mob sometimes

Becareful what you wish for specially with this as an angry mob here in Japan may just turn against the foreigners, then there would be trouble.

And I'm sure you wouldn't want that.

Not only that, dont forget how much power yakuza still have, they'd surely use it to their advantage..

You can't really compare this to revolutions taking place, and especially not England. However I definitely agree that there needs to be some kind of a large scale protest by Japanese. They can't allow themselves to be pushed around like this they need to stand up and voice their opinions.

Posted in: Five-way race to pick new prime minister begins See in context

BoratLikeBarry, Even though I agree that there should definitely be some kind of protest (and i would participate) I don't think we'll get anywhere with only gaijin doing it. As much as I want to believe that gaijin should have a say in the government, the attitude is ''they're the ones who decided to live in japan so if they don't like something they should leave" I think it's the Japanese people that need to be standing up, its their country.

wtf Just yesterday they wrote about the contaminated beef served in the school in kanagawa. That was before the restriction was even lifted! Maybe you won't get seriously ill by eating a small amount just once, but most definitely if most of this stuff is contaminated and you eat a bit from everywhere, you will.
