Parts of "Lost In Translation" was shot in guerrilla style? I'm impressed.

Perhaps pictures like this are best reserved for the weekend editions. I'll have to remember not to visit during my lunch break at work tommorrow. :)

But spokesman Tommy Vietor said Obama was referring in the speech to a proposal for a civilian reserve corps that could handle postwar reconstruction efforts such as rebuilding infrastructure — an idea endorsed by the Bush administration."

It sounds like to me he was talking about several separate things during his speech, such as expanding the US Foreign Service, and creating a force for cleaning up, rebuilding and governing after a war.

As I remember, the idea of creating a force to rebuild and maintain foreign territory after the primary warfare is finished has been talked about before. The lack of such a force during the Iraq war was a common criticism of the handling of the Iraq war.

I'm not sure he is talking about a stateside force at all in this speech. The US already has the National Guard, which, incidentally has been a little bit neglected lately. Obama has talked about beefing up the National Guard in the past, as stated here:

Personally, I would find such an expensive vacation very stressful. I would worry about every minute that is not spent relaxing or having fun. I would worry so much about the end of my vacation fast approaching that I would be unable to relax at all.

I'm not sure Japan should rely too much on fish. The oceans are being overfished and strained the world over.
