Japan wanted war and they got exactly what they deserved.

Would that be every man woman and child of Japan who wanted war or the the Emperor/govt.? Punishing unborn and school children and very old people seems utterly unjust unless those people wanted war. The civilians paid the price in the bombings...plain and simple. Very little evidence to the contrary exists. What makes you think U.S. lives (as you allude to) are more important than Japanese? Perhaps you were swayed by all the anti-Japanese war posters that made all of us look like primates??

The paper has every right to publish whatever kind of advertisement they choose to be it "anti-semitic," "pro-nazi," a book about how dogs don't bark, they really meow, or that it was Japan who was invaded by the US on December 7, 1941 and not the other way around as we all know. If you start imposing censorship in one area, it sets a dangerous precedent for more extreme censorship of speech and thought in general.

I don't agree with hate in any form or function but I do believe that an individual has a right to how they feel and think as long as it doesn't inflict harm on another (be it physical or mental harm). It's just tiring of hearing whining and making things out to be more than they are.

Paying for sex from your wife is ridiculous. If they do take them money then they're just a step above a prostitute. I understand if it's just some sort of sex game but doing it with seriousness is disgusting.

Taka313 good comment about your monthly bill for food and taxi.

You're correct I have a part in it unfortunately. I see your point from this and very much agree. Countries would still fight whether or not a complex existed and the weapons would still be produced whether warring or not. I try to justify my work in that I deal with forensics during war and peace of anyone connected to defense. We (my colleagues and i) are always happy when we see fewer cases because that means less people have died.

Sorry your relatives are getting hurt by it. I agree with your lobbyist and crony comment too as well as other explanation. My comment was solely from what I've seen in the corporations. I'm fortunate even that I get to live here at home part of the year and in the US the other part so I can see perspectives from different sides.

I beg to differ as I work for one of the contractor corporations and even with cancellation of F22, defense contractors are not hurting that much. A lot of them are using the recession as a justification of layoffs to make the profit margin higher to satisfy shareholders. Most advanced consumer technology originated with defense projects. The "military-industrial complex" is real. I agree with you that there are times and instances where the companies suffer but it's the firms that have a the subcontractors that take the hit, not GD, MD, or Lockheed.

Sarge, I don't think it's fair to say America loves war BUT I do feel (and not just in US) that the corporations that control the countries love war. They make billions of dollars from providing the machinery of war.

The dogs of war are always cowering in the shadows, barking, then safely cowering again..

Voxman:

No offense intended but regarding a point you made

But I feel sorry for this generation for not getting the opportunity to learn truth of their countries actions in the past

Do you or anyone else in any other country really know the truth of all their governments do? How many people truly die as a result of actions taken in the name of national security or covertly?

Most people now are not stupid enough to believe or only know that one country is ever completely innocent, otherwise why would they even be involved in a war. Someone mentioned Swiss but never mention how much money they take from jews trying to keep their things protected then KEPT when those people were killed by nazi and not returned to family.

It has been and always will be government rhetoric getting the people to believe what they want for their own ends..

The same always has and will hold true as observer in 1948 by George Orwell:

And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.

1984 Book 1, Chapter 3

It's not just Japan that practices this but every country/government in the world. Some are just better at hiding it than others.

How long would Japan survive if the U.S. committed itself entirely to peace and left the area completely

As long or longer than it did before there ever was a US.

The would-be robber started all of this and the teller stopped it and (mostly) everyone is coming down on him?? I say good job to Nicholson for having the courage to try to do something right instead of just comply like a cow to the slaughterhouse.

Agree Icewind007. Have compassion for people who lost their lives who probably had family and children to take care of with their small salaries.

My wife is Indian (Mumbai and right near the Taj hotel) but she doesn't harbor such hatred towards Pakistani people. (and her family had to evacuate from Sindh because of partition and lost everything they couldn't carry). It's very sad when any life is cut short needlessly.

Convenient how thoughts counter to what you obviously believe are so easily dismissed as "silly." The paper, as an entity, has the right to run whatever they choose to. If people take offense at it then it's their problem. If you don't like the message they may or may not be promoting, then don't read the paper.

Those with money and power scream the loudest about unfairness.

Why is there so much debate over such a harmless and nice custom. I do what I can to conserve water and understand both sides of the debate brewing here. Point of note though: Think of how much H2O manufacturing facilities consume every minute? Also, how much water is excreted by people every minute on the planet?

Have to say you're pretty much right here bobcatfish:

it will fall again as rain - don't worry.

So are you Kigatsuyoi:

However, compared to how most people waste water and energy in North America throwing water on lawns to grow a nice green lawn this is really rather harmless.

(although I'd add Europe to this too considering how many lavish gardens there are just in the UK, not to mention the continent)

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a "Jewish Financial System" however if one looks at the religious identity of the major players responsible for this (including the previous and current Fed chiefs) it's understandable where people might get that idea.

Truthfully I'm SICK of hearing people cry anti-semite whenever someone expresses a view different from what they want people to believe. Of course the media will pick and go with this (being that the majority of these CEOs hail from the same community).
